At Midland Dermatology, Dr. Russell Akin uses advanced immunostaining techniques during Mohs surgery to help highlight melanoma cells more clearly and guide treatment decisions during surgery. We are currently the only office in West Texas offering this technique for melanoma surgery. 🔍

Mohs surgery is a specialized skin cancer treatment designed to carefully remove cancer while preserving as much healthy tissue as possible, which is especially important in delicate areas like the face, scalp, and neck.

Please join us in welcoming Grace Buchen, PA-C, to Midland Dermatology! 🤎

Grace is a certified Physician Assistant who focuses on medical dermatology and sees patients ages 3 and up. She earned her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth, where she graduated with honors and served as a student leader and advocate.

Before becoming a PA, Grace graduated with honors from The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. During her clinical training, she gained experience across multiple specialties, including focused training in dermatology.

Grace is passionate about providing thoughtful, patient-centered care and is committed to helping patients feel comfortable, informed, and confident in their skin.

Outside of the clinic, Grace enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, and is excited to be putting down roots in the Midland community.

We are excited to have her as part of our team!
