You are safe with me.

There are parts of me I used to hide because I thought they made me too much or not enough. The quirks. The softness. The way trauma shaped me into someone who feels deeply, notices everything, and loves in ways that don’t always make sense to others.

For a long time, I thought maybe I needed to smooth out those edges a little so people wouldn’t see the mess. I tried to tuck away the pieces of me that were shaped in dark seasons. But the older I get,the more I realise those pieces are the reason hurting people feel safe around me. They’re the reason my home has become a haven for the ones who are tired of pretending they’re fine.

The messy parts of me welcome messy people.

The tender, overly honest parts help others open up.

The different quirks make room for someone else to breathe.

I don’t want to fit into the mold. I don’t want to become a polished, perfect, edited version of myself just so I make sense to the world. The things that make me different draw those who need to know it’s okay to not fit in. It’s okay to not get it right every time. It’s okay to be held together by grace.

And maybe that’s the whole point.

Maybe God made me this way on purpose…
