Support at home matters, but families should not have to manage serious concerns alone.

Simple coping skills can help a child feel safer, understood, and more capable of managing a difficult moment while the family connects with professional services. Caregivers can practice breathing, grounding, emotional check ins, predictable routines, and healthy coping statements alongside their child.

These strategies can provide meaningful support, but they are not a replacement for professional care. Please seek help when symptoms persist, worsen, or begin interfering with school, home life, sleep, eating, relationships, or everyday functioning.

Reaching out early is not an overreaction. It is a way of showing your child that their feelings matter and that support is available.

If a child talks about su***de, self harm, or not wanting to live, take it seriously. Call or text 988 for immediate crisis support.

Intuitive Healing Therapy is here to help children, teens, and families take the next step toward healing.

Small steps can build confidence.

School days can feel overwhelming when children are worried, tired, or adjusting to a new routine. Families can help by making each part of the day feel more manageable.

Encourage positive coping statements, break larger tasks into smaller steps, offer simple choices, maintain predictable routines, and make time for a daily check in. These strategies can help children feel more prepared, supported, and confident.

Caregivers can also model these skills by talking openly about their own feelings and showing children that asking for help is a healthy choice.

Try asking your child these questions today:

“What felt easy today?”
“What felt hard?”
“What support do you need tomorrow?”

You do not have to navigate the school year alone. Intuitive Healing Therapy is here to support children, teens, and families.

Small skills can create calmer moments.

As children adjust to school routines, they may experience worry, frustration, or moments of feeling overwhelmed. Families can help by practicing simple coping skills at home before those difficult moments arise.

Try bubble breathing, five senses grounding, naming the feeling, creating a calm corner, or using movement to release tension. Caregivers can practice these skills alongside their children and remind them that asking for help is always okay.

Coping skills do not remove every uncomfortable feeling. They give children healthy tools to feel safe, understood, and better prepared to manage the moment.

Save this post and practice one skill together this week!

Back to school can bring excitement, change, and plenty of nervous feelings.

Some back to school jitters are normal as children and families adjust to new schedules and routines. However, ongoing changes in sleep, appetite, mood, concentration, or physical complaints may be signs that a child needs additional support.

Families may also notice increased worry, irritability, tearfulness, school avoidance, withdrawal, or frequent requests to stay home. Paying attention to changes from your child’s usual behavior can help you recognize when they may be struggling.

Intuitive Healing Therapy can provide a safe place for children and teens to express their feelings, understand their anxiety, develop coping skills, and rebuild healthy routines. Our play therapist can also help younger children communicate and process their experiences through play.

You do not have to navigate this transition alone. We are here to support your family as you find your rhythm.
