The vision of a few members of this community met with a tremendous amount of hard work, cooperation, and love for one’s fellow man. Our continuing commitment is to build on the needs of our patients with a life-limiting illness. nd's care follows the patient in the home, hospital, nursing home, assisted living facility or anywhere the patient calls home with patient services available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. When medicine cannot provide a cure, Hospice of Midland can diminish suffering and offer care and assistance that helps maintain a better quality of life for the patient. Our services involve treatment of physical and emotional pain and symptoms focusing on improving the patient’s comfort and quality of life. Our philosophy is that as life nears its end, every individual has the right to spend his or her remaining days in peace and with dignity. We focus specifically on comfort, dignity and pain control as we respond to the symptoms, needs and goals of the patients and their families. Hospice of Midland is accredited by CHAP (Community Health Accreditation Program) and is a member of NHPCO (National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization), TNMHO (Texas & New Mexico Hospice Organization) and the Texas Non-Profit Hospice Alliance.

🎉 Celebrating 50 Years of Nursing! 🎉

Today, we are honored to recognize Sheila McCright, Palliative Care Nurse Specialist at Hospice of Midland, as she celebrates an incredible 50 years of service as a nurse! 💙

For five decades, Sheila has dedicated her career to caring for others with compassion, knowledge, patience, and heart. Sheila has been with us for over 5 years, and in her role with Hospice of Midland, she helps patients and families navigate serious illness by providing education, support, and specialized palliative care focused on comfort and quality of life.

Fifty years in nursing represents countless patients cared for, families comforted, lessons shared, and lives touched. We are incredibly grateful for the experience and dedication Sheila brings to our team and to the Permian Basin community.

Lunch, Learning & a Little Collaboration!

Hospice of Odessa and Cornerstone Caregiving recently teamed up for a Lunch & Learn with the wonderful staff at Courtyards Assisted Living & Memory Care in Odessa.

Good food brought us to the table, but great conversation made the time together meaningful! We talked about recognizing changes in residents’ needs, understanding when additional support may be beneficial, and how working together can help families feel supported every step of the way.

A big thank you to the Courtyards team for welcoming us and being so engaged, and to Cornerstone Caregiving for partnering with us to share resources and strengthen care in our community. ❤️

We believe some of the best care happens when organizations stop working beside one another and start working together.

Because at the end of the day, collaboration isn't about us—it's about making sure the people and families we serve have the support they need, when they need it.

Our Hospice of Midland volunteers had a fantastic time joining the residents and families for a fun-filled Luau!

A big thank you to Chris and Stacy for inviting us to be part of the celebration and making our volunteers feel so welcome.

For our volunteers, these events are about much more than having a good time. They’re an opportunity to connect with residents and families, build friendships, and share a little joy along the way. 💙
