Tw***ie was diagnosed with a skin tumor right near her eyelid—an especially delicate spot. Because of its size and location, a more advanced approach was needed. Dr. Sommerkamp performed a sliding semicircular skin graft to fully remove the tumor while preserving the natural length and function of her lower eyelid.

We can’t get enough of watching Dr. Belk perform this surgery! In this video, she’s placing a BioSIS disk beneath a conjunctival graft to provide additional support. BioSIS, similar to absorbable sutures, is a material made from animal intestine that helps strengthen wounds.
