🌼 What can you use fresh chamomile for this spring if you should stumble upon some??? Well, you can put it in a vase & 😊 when you look at it or close your eyes & feel relaxed when you smell it☺️ but you can also dry it completely & then use the dried flowers for a number of things! I’ll tell you what I’m going to do- I’m going to dry some chamomile flowers to use for making bedtime tea 😴 & then I am going to take the other half of the dried flowers & infuse them in a 🌞 windowsill into some organic avocado oil so I can then take some beeswax/shea butter & make skin salve! My skin 🥰 chamomile & I have a tough time finding natural beauty products that incorporate chamomile without incorporating other toxic ingredients, so I’m going to make my own because nothing brings down redness in fair skin like chamomile❤️ Do you also like chamomile? Ever put some chamomile tea bags under your eyes to calm puffiness? ...Leave a comment & tell me what you would do with these fresh chamomile flowers!! 🌼👇🏻

✨Why should you focus on eating as diverse an array of plant foods as you can? Because your good gut bugs rely on plant fibers to ferment as food & they make short chain fatty acids that help your body by:

1️⃣ Keeping your tight junctions nice & tight to prevent the dreaded leaky gut, leaky lung, or leaky blood-brain barrier
2️⃣ Activating metabolic pathways that make you more efficient at burning fat
3️⃣ Telling your brain that you are satiated so that you do not have cravings between meals
4️⃣ Supporting regulatory T cells which are basically the orchestra coordinators for your immune response
5️⃣ Dampening your main inflammatory pathway
6️⃣ Outcompeting the bad bugs so the force can be with your gut

✨ The more diverse your plant intake the more different types of food for the different types of bugs that you want living in your gut so you can reap the benefits. Folks who have a more diverse gut microbiome enjoy better overall health, immunity, & metabolic fitness in studies. Moreover the more different types of vegetables and lower glycemic fruits that you eat in season... The more beneficial plant compounds such as polyphenols your body can benefit from.

✨ At our house we like to have at least two vegetable sides with our meals, try new veggie recipes all the time, use a lot of fresh herbs to garnish our meals, eat lots of different types of salads, try new veggies that we see when we are shopping & learn how to cook them so that we can incorporate them into our diet, & we like to sprinkle plant fiber on top of meals or mixed into hot beverages such as inulin from chicory or sunchoke & potato starch. What strategies do you use to get more plants into your diet? Comment below!👇🏻
