Today, we grabbed the music and started a party parade through KSI to announce our 1st Quarter Participant Award winner! The best part? Before he even knew the celebration was for him, he jumped right in and started dancing with us! Once we shared the big news, the party parade kept going—with our winner and some of his friends joining in as we made our way around the building.

Thanks to grant funding, KSI recently purchased a PAES Lab (Practical Assessment Exploration System)—a hands-on simulated work environment where participants can explore different types of job tasks and learn more about their interests, strengths, and skills.

This week, our team completed training and PAES set up the physical simulation lab! Next, we’ll train additional staff and begin offering exploratory opportunities for participants interested in learning more about what they might enjoy doing for work.

A tremendous thank you to our gracious donors, BNY Mellon and SourceAmerica, for making this exciting opportunity possible!

We’re excited to offer another way for participants to explore possibilities, discover their strengths, and make informed choices about employment.

On Friday, September 25, KSI is celebrating Dolly Parton 9-to-5 Day with acts of kindness throughout the day! In honor of Dolly’s well-known commitment to children and literacy, we’re also collecting new and gently used children’s books to donate to area elementary schools.
