Stuttering therapy should never be one-size-fits-all.

I’m Chamonix Olsen, M.S., CCC-SLP, BCS-SCF—a board-certified specialist in stuttering, cluttering, and fluency disorders with over 25 years of experience.

I work with adults, teens, and children to design therapy around each person’s goals—whether that means communicating with greater ease and confidence in real life, reducing avoidance, developing a more accepting relationship with stuttering, thoughtfully incorporating fluency tools or strategies for navigating physical tension when they are a genuinely good fit, or pursuing a goal too individual to fit neatly into a list.

For some people, our work also includes talking through the emotional realities of stuttering: difficult interactions, questions, and moments that may bring up fear, frustration, embarrassment, or shame. It can be a place to feel understood, sort through what happened, and decide what would be most helpful next.

Online therapy is available in multiple states, with in-person services in Milford and Fairfield County, Connecticut.

If you or someone you love stutters, I’d be honored to help. Learn more through the link in my bio.

Stuttering therapy shouldn’t look exactly the same for everyone.
Alex shares what made his experience at Hope for Stuttering different—and why having therapy tailored to him, his stuttering, and his goals has mattered.

Whether your goals include more fluency, easier stuttering, less tension and avoidance, greater confidence, or changing how you feel about speaking, therapy should meet you where you are.
If you’re a college student, young adult, or adult who stutters and you’re looking for specialized, individualized stuttering therapy, learn more or book a free 20-minute consultation at the link in my bio.

You can do things you don't want to do. Don't wait for motivation. This is discipline. Only you change you. Do it! Take action! Step out. Sit down and practice for 20 min. Do your thing, whatever it is...do the work to meet your goals and to make your vision a reality. Say, I am resilient. I am a person who is disciplined. I can do hard things. I am capable. I am able. I follow through. I trust myself.

What wording do you use to address people who are filling in your words mid stutter? Is it different for kind people not meaning harm vs not nice people?
