Sitting down for a session with Marcy Meyer, PhD, LISW-S is often described as the clinical equivalent of being wrapped in a warm hug.

If you are walking through some of life’s heaviest seasons, Marcy provides the gentle, deeply grounded space you need to breathe.

Marcy is a vital part of our team at Thrive Therapy, Inc., specializing in grief, loss, and life’s most profound transitions. She brings immense heart and expertise to areas that are often the hardest to talk about:

✨ Navigating a Terminal or Difficult Diagnosis: Whether you have received a heartbreaking medical diagnosis yourself, or you are walking alongside a family member through their end-of-life journey, Marcy helps you process the immense emotional complexities that come with it.

✨ Infertility, pregnancy loss & Infant Loss: Marcy holds a sacred, tender space for women and families navigating the quiet pain of infertility, pregnancy loss, and infant loss.

✨ Out-of-Order Losses: One of the heaviest burdens a person can carry is an “out-of-order” loss, such as a parent losing a child. Marcy walks with individuals through this devastating landscape with profound empathy and patience.

Care for All Ages & Flexible Formats Grief doesn’t care how old you are. Marcy works with individuals of all ages, helping children, teens, and adults find their footing after a loss. To make care as accessible as possible, she offers both in-person and online appointments.

We know how vulnerable it feels to reach out for help during a painful time. That’s why you can schedule a free, 15-minute consultation with Marcy first, allowing you to see if her approach feels like the safe space you’ve been looking for.

I finally completed a project I’ve been working on for a while! With every client I get to work with in my clinical practice, discussions about goals are discussed. Whether this be part of trauma work, grief processing, or a life transition- I know that goals mean nothing if they are not aligned with our values.

I’ve always pieced together some values work from an assortment of sources. It wasn’t simple and cohesive, and it always felt clunky. So, I created my own 🤍 (finally)

This is a practical guide for creating a life aligned with what matters most.

Below is the welcome note from me, found on the first page of this workbook. Want a copy? Link to download is in bio.

A personal welcome from me:

My name is Jenn Simpson, and I’m a clinical social worker with a passion for values work. I’ve seen firsthand how transformative it can be when we align our daily lives with what truly matters to us.

When we’re not living in accordance with our core values, something inside us feels off. We might experience internal conflict, a nagging sense of dissatisfaction, or even find our mental and physical health beginning to suffer. The misalignment can show up as feelings of shame, guilt, or diminished self-worth affecting not just how we see ourselves, but how we connect with the people around us.

This workbook is designed to guide you on a meaningful journey: to help you discover what you truly value and then learn to live accordingly. When your actions align with your values, something beautiful happens. You’ll experience a deeper sense of purpose, greater fulfillment, and the kind of resilience that carries you through life’s challenges.

My hope for you is simple: that you create a life you genuinely enjoy and find values work as meaningful and life changing as I have.

Beautiful design work by who helps me take my ideas, work, notes, and text and make it into a beautiful, user friendly, and smart product 🤍

For twenty years, I have sat with survivors of child sexual abuse and sexual assault. I have witnessed the fear, the heartbreak, and the rage that comes with trauma. I have held space for the profound injustice that survivors face—children, college students, adults—over and over again.

I have supported clients through grueling court cases. I have been deposed on behalf of my patients. I have looked survivors in the eye, time and time again, and reminded them: It is not your fault. Not when ignorant comments are made. Not when the justice system fails to hold perpetrators accountable. Not ever.

Together, we have challenged the toxic, victim-blaming narrative that survivors are “just seeking attention” or “in it for the money or fame.” We know the truth: there is not a damn thing survivors are awarded for speaking out. In fact, they lose far more than they gain—their privacy, their peace, their sense of safety in the world. And still, they speak.

And yet, here we are.

We watch as rich and powerful people continue to deny and defend allegations. We watch as sexual predators become congressmen, teachers, coaches—placed in positions of extreme power and influence. We watch as a known predator becomes the President of the United States.

We see the gaslighting. We see his followers look the other way, defend the indefensible, all while claiming to be “pro-life” and proclaiming they’re “protecting children.” The hypocrisy is staggering. The complicity is infuriating.

I am frustrated. I am heartbroken. And I am exhausted by a system and a culture that continues to protect predators while silencing survivors.

But let me be absolutely clear:

To every survivor reading this:

You are believed.

Your voice matters.

It is not your guilt or shame to carry.

What you are seeing is wrong. Profoundly, unequivocally wrong.

I see you. I hear you. And I will continue to stand with you.

The work continues. The fight is far from over. And survivors deserve so much more than what this world has given them.

Love,
Jenn

A new year can bring hope — and a quiet pressure to do more, be more, and change everything.

That pressure often shows up when we feel stuck. And it’s rarely something a new planner, drawer organizer, or gym membership can fix. More often, what’s underneath is stress, old patterns, grief, trauma, or anxiety your nervous system is still carrying. Getting unstuck isn’t about pushing harder; it’s about understanding what’s beneath the surface and having support to move forward.

At Thrive Therapy, our trauma-informed team — Jenn Simpson, Christina Fako Hall, and Marcella Cameron Meyer — offers a grounded, inclusive space for people navigating trauma, PTSD, anxiety, grief, or simply feeling stuck. Healing isn’t one-size-fits-all, and we meet you where you are.

In-person and virtual sessions are available. Learn more or schedule a free 15-minute consultation at thrivetherapyinc.com. Sometimes the most meaningful reset isn’t about adding more — it’s about getting the right support.

Your nervous system heals in stillness. 🌱
And during the holidays, that reminder matters more than ever.

This season asks a lot of your time, energy, and emotional bandwidth. But your body doesn’t regulate through doing more. It heals when you slow down, even briefly.

A quiet minute without your phone. Three real breaths. Finishing your coffee while it’s still warm. Stepping outside and feeling the air on your face. Small moments like these signal safety, and they help your system shift out of survival mode.

Stillness won’t erase the stress of the season, but it can soften the edges so you don’t carry everything at full intensity.

At Thrive Therapy, we help you work with your nervous system so rest and regulation feel possible, even now.
