Hello friends!! I just realized my posts are not automatically posting here from Instagram like they used to. Facebook changed something and now my posts automatically share on my personal page, not this business page.

So if you don’t already, make sure you’re my friend or following my personal account to keep seeing my posts and stories!

Thank you!! I appreciate you all for the continued support! ❤️

It really sucks when you planned on having a great workout, but then nausea hits 🥴

It’s a super common issue. Just last week I overheard two people complaining of nausea during our crossfit class.

There are many reasons it could be happening, and your nutrition is likely responsible for most of them!

Swipe through to see if you’re making any of these mistakes.

If you want to feel your best & perform your best, your nutrition needs to be a top priority! I teach my clients how to properly fuel their bodies and reach their goals while also improving their relationship with food. Apply for 1:1 coaching with the link in my bio!

I’ve resisted this for a long time…

Because it’s change, and I don’t like change.

Because it’s pushing me out of my comfort zone, and that’s always a little scary.

Because I was afraid people would be upset if I did something different.

But time and time again I was given signs this is the direction I need to go. So I’m finally trusting and listening✨

My passion for nutrition goes so much deeper than weight loss and it’s time I shared that passion with the world.

I will 1000% still be here to help you sustainably lose weight & improve your relationship with food, but I want to up level the conversation.

💪🏼 I want you to start seeing yourself as an athlete, because if you’re doing any type of workouts, that’s what you are!

This means nutrition isn’t just a way to get smaller, but a way to feel better, have more energy, fuel your workouts, lift heavier, go faster, recover better, get stronger, feel confident and empowered.

It’s my full belief that nutrition can do all that AND more. When I started thinking about my food and my body this way, my life changed for the better.

I hope you’re as excited about this as I am! 🤗 To help you even more, I’d love to hear a fitness or nutrition goal you’re working on now in the comments!

Thank you for all the support! It truly means so much, and I would be forever grateful if you shared my page or posts with someone who could benefit 💗

There’s a lot of confusing nutrition information for crossfitters.

Even Crossfit HQ’s nutrition statement (eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch, and no sugar) doesn't provide good recommendations for its athletes 👎🏼

Limiting starches (aka carbs) just doesn’t make sense for athletes. Carbs should actually make up about 50% of the calories you consume.

🏋🏻‍♀️ Crossfitters need carbohydrates to lift heavier, go fastest, properly recover, build muscle, have energy, and function optimally.

Of course we want more whole food, higher fiber sources the majority of the time to feel your best and improve your health, but this doesn’t mean you need to eliminate breads, pastas, beans, or even small amounts of sugar.

To see the most results, you need a plan that’s specific to your needs. Getting personalized goals and building up habits rather than following a template is the way to go! Apply for 1:1 nutrition coaching with the link in my bio!

Do you struggle with eating enough protein?

Swipe thru to get 8 tips on how to add more!

Protein is important to help maintain or build muscle mass, improve immune function, and help you feel more full.

Whether your goal is weight loss, maintaining your weight, building muscle, or performing better in the gym - getting enough protein is important!

There’s a sweet spot tho - you don’t want to little, but you don’t want your goal too high where it’s unattainable and sacrificing your carb, fat, fiber, or veggie intake.

You shouldn’t have to drink multiple protein shakes a day to reach your protein goal. If that’s what you’re doing, your protein goal is too high or your meals aren’t properly balanced!

So many clients come to me struggling with protein, and it can be an easy fix that makes a big impact!

If you need help, I have 1:1 coaching spots available or schedule a one time coaching session to make sure you’re on the right track! Link in bio to apply, or message me to see which option would be the best fit for your goals!

When should you skip your workout?

I know you’ve been there. You planned to go to the gym, but now that gym time is here you’re not feeling up for it. You’re wondering if you’re just “being lazy”, or if your desire to take a rest day is valid.

Knowing the difference between being mentally and physically tired really helps.

You might be mentally tired if:
😵‍💫 you’ve had a long day at work
😵‍💫 you’ve been under more stress lately
😵‍💫 you just don’t feel like it
😵‍💫 you’ve been sitting most of the day

If you’re just mentally tired, doing your planned workout could actually be really beneficial! Usually once you’re done, you’re happy you did it.

You’re physically tired if:
😴 you didn’t sleep well or got less than 6-7 hours
🥱 it’s been a while since you had a rest day
🤒 you’re sick
😓 you’re really sore
😣 you haven’t had much to eat
😨 you haven’t drank enough water

If you’re physically tired - you should absolutely skip your workout and rest. Going to the gym isn’t going to be beneficial and you would probably feel like 💩

It’s important to know when to push through, and when to listen to your body!

Save this post to remind yourself later, and share it with that one friend who always feels guilty for taking a day off!

I’m angry.

I’m angry that these companies are using your strong desire to see progress to sell you supplements you don’t need.

I’m angry that when you don’t see the progress these supplements promise, you keep blaming yourself for not trying hard enough.

I’m angry these companies keep glorifying quick weight loss that is not healthy and unsustainable.

If the program requires you to buy their specific brand of supplements (or food products) then they likely care more about your money than your health.

I questioned posting this because I don’t want to seem negative or hateful, but I have a responsibility as a dietitian to provide evidence based nutrition recommendations. And it makes me so angry to see people who have no education or qualifications in nutrition spreading lies and misinformation without a second thought.

I realize these companies are likely not going anywhere and neither are the people who are selling them. So I’m going to try to not let it get to me as much from here on out. But I had to get this off my chest first.

Please focus on what really matters for your health, because these supplements aren’t it. Please if you’re going to spend the money, invest in people who really care about your health.

If you agree with me, please share this post!

Do you have goals to eat healthier this year? If so, these are 4 habits to start doing!

Healthy eating really can be simple (not always convenient to do, but simple). Planning ahead, cooking your own food, not getting distracted by the supplement industry, and having a sustainable plan will take you very far.

This is the time of year where the diet industry is going full blown crazy trying to get you to do their diets (I see you Optavia 🙄) or buy all these supplements that they make seem so necessary.

If you want to skip out on all that BS and learn how to really eat right and create sustainable habits for life, the doors for Meal Prep Magic✨ open today!

My new 4 week interactive group program to learn what healthy eating really means and how to do it, how to make healthy eating easier so you stick to it, and stress free meal planning & prep. Plus you get over 100 of my favorite recipes & meal ideas.

Want more details? Just message me the word “MAGIC”✨

I’m gonna let you in on my little secret…

I only cook 4 times per week 🤭

I don’t really mind cooking, but I definitely don’t like the stress of having to do it every. dang. day.

(and I should mention we only go out to eat once per week)

So how do I cook LESS but still eat healthy?

➡️ I’ve mastered the art of meal planning.

I cook once for lunches for the week [aka meal prep]. Then I cook every other day for dinners.

So it ends up looking like this⤵️
Saturday: cook dinner
Sunday: cook lunches + eat leftover dinner
Monday: cook dinner
Tuesday: eat leftovers
Wednesday: cook dinner
Thursday: eat leftovers
Friday: out to eat

You don’t have to do exactly what I do, but wouldn’t you like to spend LESS time in the kitchen while eating healthier and reaching your goals?! 🙋🏻‍♀️

Mastering meal planning & prep makes reaching your goals almost fool proof if you do it right.

And I’m going to teach you how in Meal Prep Magic✨ My new 4 week interactive group program that starts Jan 17th! Message me to join!
