A new Nature study shows that both too little and too much sleep accelerate biological aging across the brain, metabolism, and immune system. The optimal range is narrower than we think—and balance matters more than extremes (O’Toole et al., 2026).

Interestingly, this aligns closely with Ayurvedic medicine, which has long described health as a state of equilibrium: too little sleep reflects nervous system overdrive (vata excess), while too much reflects metabolic stagnation (kappa excess).

The suffering you feel does not come from difference. It comes from attachment to being right, from clinging to identity, from mistaking thought for truth.

Wisdom is not the accumulation of beliefs. It is the quiet discernment that sees through illusion. It recognizes that all views are constructions—useful, sometimes beautiful, but ultimately empty of fixed essence.

Do not grasp.

When you impose your view, you bind yourself to it. When you defend it, you suffer for it. When you release it, you become free.

This does not mean silence of truth. It means precision of truth.

In my immature years, I found myself inflicting my views—on religion, on God, on spirituality, what it is to be a “good person”—onto others. Somewhere inside, I believed that if someone didn’t see the world the way I did and didn’t believe in a “higher” power, something was “wrong”.

But reflection changes things. Life teaches you if you allow it.

What I’ve come to see is that the real fallacy is the imposition of one belief system onto another. It almost doesn’t matter what that belief is.

True mutual respect feels different. It sounds like:
“I honor your view.”
“And here is mine.”
And then… we let it be.

In that space, something opens. We move from attachment to the open void between. Awareness expands. We begin to see how another person experiences the world, even if it’s completely different from our own. And maybe there’s something there to learn.

From this space, peace becomes possible.

There’s no need to impose, because doing so crosses into someone else’s sovereignty. It disrupts mutual respect. And when we truly understand that each person’s experience is valid within their own reality, the need to prove or convince begins to dissolve.

It can feel paradoxical—how can one person believe something exists, and another believe it doesn’t, and both coexist in truth?

But the answer is simple:
That is their experience.
This is yours.
Neither is inherently superior.

And in that acceptance, we gain insight into how others move through life—how they relate, interpret, and engage with the world around them.

When I look at strong belief systems now, I wonder if the rigidity and attachment to the belief itself IS the trauma bond.

What if we softened and let go?

What if we saw it all as leela—the divine play, the unfolding performance of life?

What if we loosened our grip on needing to be right, and instead stepped back into a wider awareness?

From the vantage point, everything has its place. Every perspective, every experience, every “truth” is part of a larger whole each playing an important role.

A remembering that we are all part of something vast, interconnected, and continuously unfolding.

Hi I’m Dr. Mimansa MD, longevity medicine physician.

My long-term vision extends beyond clinical medicine alone. I am deeply interested in the future expansion of integrative healing centers and wellness retreats that provide people with truly comprehensive healing experiences—spaces that integrate medical care, nutrition, mind-body medicine, emotional healing, restorative environments, education, longevity science, and community support.

This mission is profoundly personal to me.

My mother died of breast cancer during a formative period of my life while I myself was studying breast cancer pathology under the microscope. There was a surreal and heartbreaking juxtaposition between analyzing malignant cells scientifically during the day while simultaneously witnessing the emotional and human reality of cancer unfold in my own family. That experience permanently shaped my understanding of medicine.

It taught me that medicine cannot only focus on pathology slides, biomarkers, and disease mechanisms alone. We must also care for the human being experiencing illness—their emotional suffering, relationships, environment, nutrition, stress, meaning, and quality of life. That realization became one of the driving forces behind my transition toward integrative and longevity medicine.

I believe the future of healthcare lies in bridging rigorous science with compassionate, whole-person healing. My goal is to help build systems of care that are both deeply evidence-based and profoundly human.
