Dr. Steven Mobley is a Facial Plastic Surgeon in Salt Lake City, UT. He has been in practice since 2002 at the University of Utah.

The son of a urological surgeon, Dr. Mobley began his love for caring for others at an early age. As he forged his career as a Facial Plastic surgeon, Dr. Mobley was mentored by the likes of Dr. Rick Davis, Dr. Robert Simons, Dr. Regan Thomas, and Dr. Gary Burget, all of whom taught him that to be a great facial plastic surgeon one must be an artist, and an engineer, and a counselor. The counselor listens closely to the patient’s needs, the artist creates the vision for the patient’s solution, and the engineer uses exacting technique to achieve the desired result. Along with his extensive professional experience, Dr. Mobley actively gives back to his community. He routinely offers charitable surgery to children in need of ear pinning but who cannot afford it through The Mobley Foundation—a 501(c)3, started in 2008 with his wife Britta. As well, he has donated over $25K over the past several years to Children’s Holiday Charities. When he’s not exacting his technique, caring for patients, or offering his expertise to children in need, Dr. Mobley is spending weekends with his family—skiing the Wasatch mountains of Northern Utah, hanging out in the gym with his wife, or giving his son a few pointers on the art of the curveball.

Remembering Dolly Parton 🤍

A true American icon. Dolly Parton had a positive impact on my entire life, from watching 9 to 5 as a young boy in Arizona, to hearing “Coat of Many Colors,” a song that always reminded me of my mother’s humble upbringing in Lakeside, Arizona.

Dolly’s music, humor, beauty, and unmistakable voice crossed generations. Even recently, my surgical assistant Jessi added Dolly and Pitbull’s song “Powerful Women” to our operating room playlist, and it quickly became a favorite.

In many ways, Dolly also had a uniquely refreshing approach to beauty and plastic surgery. She was open, funny, self-deprecating, and never pretentious. Her famous line, “it takes a lot of money to look this cheap,” always made me smile because it captured her confidence, humor, and willingness to be completely herself.

Dolly is now reunited with her husband, Carl, after a marriage that lasted nearly 60 years. As Britta and I recently passed 32 years of marriage, I have such admiration for that kind of lifelong partnership and support, although Britta can’t quite hold a note like Dolly could.

Thank you, Dolly, for a lifetime of music, memories, laughter, and inspiration. Your legacy will live on.

When Dr. Mobley was asked how his marriage has influenced his surgical career, he said that having a stable home life and a supportive wife that he met in college and who has been with him through all the grueling years of medical school, residency, and fellowship has created resilience and deep love in their marriage.
