Ritual Hot Yoga at Bear Lake - the most beautiful weekend filled with rainbows, new friendships & a beautiful twist on yoga.

Ta**ra means “to weave.” That’s the whole point of this one. A home full of acquaintances & strangers with different jobs, different bodies, different reasons for driving two and a half hours to fold forward in a field. About 15 minutes into our sunny turned rain opening practice, we all were laughing like we knew each other for decades.
Then the storm came through. Nobody packed up. And the sky handed over a rainbow like it had been planning it all along.

That’s the practice. Not perfect conditions. Staying. Rain or shine, you adapt, you breathe, you stay together.

The good news: it doesn’t take a lake. It happens in the hot room at Ritual Hot Yoga on Highland Drive every day, with people who will know your name by your third class.

We are blown away by how much fun we had. Yoga, boats, community, love, food, intentions and fighting off the Bear Lake Monster. We couldn’t ask for more.

There is a specific weight to your body in bed under the covers after a hot yoga class. A warmth that hasn’t finished leaving yet, and no part of you needing to move.

You’re fast asleep before you finish your final thought of the evening.

It isn’t luck. Falling asleep is a temperature event, not a willpower one. Your body temperature climbs in the room, then spends the next two hours coming down, and that descent is what takes you under. UT Austin researchers went through 5,322 studies and kept arriving at the same place.

The yoga glow is the front half: strength, discipline, a fun playlist and connection with your peers turned friends in class. The sleep is the back half with your body feeling safe, restored & relaxed
