According to the CDC, breastfed babies have a reduced risk of conditions such as asthma, respiratory infections, ear infections, obesity, and SIDS. For mothers, breastfeeding can help lower the risk of high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, breast cancer, and ovarian cancer.

But breastfeeding isn’t always easy, and support matters. Family, healthcare providers, workplaces, and communities can all play a role in helping mothers reach their breastfeeding goals.

This National Breastfeeding Month, let’s work together to create supportive environments for mothers and babies.
