Have you ever wondered what happens when we come to your home? We understand what it means to be invited in during such a tender moment. Our staff will move carefully, give your family time, and treat your loved one with respect.

We arrive discreetly, so the visit feels as private as possible. Before anything begins, we'll talk with you about what feels best and explain what to expect.

You can stay with us, step away for a few minutes, say goodbye first, or have us begin right away. We'll follow your lead as we bring your loved one into our care.

The transfer usually takes 15 to 30 minutes, depending on the layout of your home and where your loved one is resting.

When you trust us with this moment, we treat it with the care it deserves. Questions about what to expect? Call 618-476-3111. We're here 24 hours a day to help you.

Labor Day marks the end of summer, and for a lot of families, it gives us a day away from the daily grind. At the heart of it, this day recognizes people who came home tired from work and woke up ready to do it again.

Dad walked in from a business trip, worn out from airports and meetings, and before anyone asked about his suitcase, he bent down and kissed your forehead. Mom came home from third shift with school lunches already on her mind, wrote your name on a bag, added a little note, and kissed you good morning, exhausted but smiling.

Today, let's celebrate the people whose everyday routines taught us how to work hard and love well.

After the funeral, heading back to school may be one of the first times a child steps into a place where everything seems “normal,” because the backpack is packed, the bell still rings, and the day moves forward. But it may not feel that way to them.

A quick note to the teacher can make the return a little easier. Let them know who died, what your child called them, and anything that might help if the day gets tough.

With that context, a teacher can notice a heavy moment, offer a quiet place to step out, or simply respond with extra patience and compassion.

We can help your family think through the days around the service, including how children may return to school and familiar routines afterward.

We often serve families who are unsure if the person who died would want a funeral or any kind of gathering, especially when they never felt tied to a church or used to shrug and say, "Skip the fuss." We understand that.

We also see how even a small gathering or ritual can open the door to connection in ways that surprise people. Those simple moments often stand out later because they felt honest, personal, and exactly right for the family. If you'd like to talk through options, our team is ready to listen and guide you.

Have you considered whether burial or cremation feels right for you?

Some people know immediately which choice fits them better. Maybe you picture yourself laid to rest in the family plot near your parents, or maybe you prefer the idea of your cremated remains lawfully scattered somewhere you loved. Both options give your family a way to honor you, and both come with their own considerations.

Telling your family which direction you lean takes one big question off their shoulders when they're already overwhelmed. If you're somewhere in the middle or honestly don't have a preference, that's worth saying too. Your family will feel better making the choice if they know they're following your lead. And rest assured that we’ll be there to guide them.
