The Wisdom Tree Counseling Services, LLC " Changing Lives, One Session At A Time" I am a mental health professional that has been practicing in the field for 24 years.

There is an old saying, “If you give a man a fish, he will eat for a day, but if you teach a man to fish, he will eat for a lifetime.” The Wisdom Tree Counseling approach is to help you, help yourself by uncovering the skills and strategies you need to be holistically successful. By providing a non-judgmental, trusting environment we engage in a therapeutic alliance that will promote feelings of safety and security to open up, peel back those layers, and address the root cause of despair. I have found that a holistic approach to counseling contributes to therapeutic growth. Treating the whole person, not just the symptoms, will empower the body, mind, and soul to work collectively together building self-confidence and resilience. Therapy is my calling and I strive with a spirit of excellence. I acknowledge that people are the experts in their own lives. I listen to clients about their desires for treatment and collaborate with guardians. This multi-systemic approach is essential to the therapeutic process. By utilizing play therapy interventions and other evidence-based practices, I have the honor of creating a safe place for children, adolescents, and adults to deal with trauma and emotional issues through metaphoric play. Therapeutic play allows children to explore, grow, and heal in a non-directive manner, providing them with positive regard, acceptance, and understanding. In addition to play techniques, healthy alternatives are provided for dealing with dysregulation, attachment issues, anxiety, self-esteem, interpersonal skills, adjustments situations, depression, military life stressors, and any challenging life transitions." In Forming a well built therapeutic relationship, each client feel unique and that the therapeutic process we embark on is tailored to them. A non-judgmental space is created along with empowerment and encouragement so that no matter the stage of life they are in, the results of this transformation will be powerful. At the end of every session, each client has hope that they will accomplish all of the treatments goals and objectives that have been identified in our initial session. Education and Licensure:

So... My babies finally did it, they took a sister out LOL.🫣 To the point I had to go to urgent care yesterday. During this time the nurse on staff took my vitals signs and can I share with you all I was absolutely floored... My blood pressure was 101/71. Now my temperature reading was another story..🤔 but anyway. When she told me what my blood pressure reading was. My response was "Hum, well my kids did not take me completely out, I do have somewhat of a pulse left or the EMDR, self-regulation skills, self-soothing strategies, grounding or mindfulness techniques that I used are really working".. The nurse looked at me and just laughed. The environment shifted not a lot but it allowed someone to smile and breathe even if it was for a short minute .🕛

Today, don't allow yourself to be overwhelmed by things/events/experiences that are not within our control but instead allow yourself to focus on what you can, take a break, reset, breathe and have a fantastic day. Ms. T orders...😘

Tomorrow, September 21st is WORLD GRATITUDE DAY!!
One of the guru's in the field, Jacki Short empowers others to pause to ask themselves these questions during her post:

What am I grateful for today?
Who has made a difference to me recently?
What small moment have I enjoyed that I might otherwise have overlooked?

So take a few minutes to look around and notice something that has been there all along or something new! A positive mindset can change an environment!!!

What I am grateful for you may ask???

YOU!

Have a beautiful week!!

Words That Build Resilience

The words children hear during difficult moments can become the words they eventually learn to say to themselves.

Supportive words do not remove the challenge. They create the safety, connection, and hope children need to move through it.

Good morning Beautiful people!! This is how I looked last week, ready to support my peps and community. Friday, this was my facial expression because somehow on my appointment calendar I only had young men scheduled for the day, 7 YO and younger... Can someone say WORK OUT!! LOL 😂😂. After my day was finished, I looked like this, blessed to receive the chance to be present for them... But I did have to put my hair up ..🤣🤣

I ADORE EACH OF THEM, THEY KEEP ME ON MY TOES 🦶🏽🥰💙. Have a beautiful Sunday...

🍿 Every child develops in their own time.

Some children read early.
Some need more time.

Some jump into social situations with confidence.
Some observe first.

Some master skills quickly.
Some need repetition, safety, and support before things finally “click.”

Just like popcorn kernels don’t all pop at the same time, children don’t grow, learn, regulate, or mature on the same timeline.

Comparison can make us anxious — and it can make children feel like they’re behind.

But different doesn’t mean delayed.
Slow doesn’t mean stuck.
Quiet doesn’t mean incapable.

Their turn to “pop” is coming.

Let’s give children the time, patience, and belief they need to unfold in their own way. 💛
