What led you to becoming a yoga teacher?
"I’m drawn to the eight limbs of yoga as a practice that can contribute to peace and freedom. My practice deepened several years ago when yoga, meditation, and sound became sources of healing in my life, which led me to Sedona where I trained in sound healing in 2022. When I returned to Wisconsin, I felt called to continue exploring this path. With the guidance of my teachers, I completed my 200-hour teacher training at the Moving Galaxy. I’m continually inspired by yoga and the community around it. Teaching feels like a way to share something I love, and support others in their own practice while deepening my understanding. I have some background in education and the performing arts, which has made teaching and facilitating something I’ve long found meaningful."
What is your favorite part about teaching yoga?
"The people who come to practice. I’ve met so many amazing people and it’s a privilege to witness people’s growth over time. I also love bringing pranayama and sound into my classes."
Currently, what style of yoga are you drawn to most? Why?
"I love vinyasa, especially for the connection of movement with breath, and dynamic motion and strength with grounding and awareness. I’ve also been finding balance in slower practices, like restorative and yin, which support the nervous system in a different way."
Top three favorite yoga poses...GO!
"Savasana, Virabhadrasana I, Natarajasana."
What is your favorite restaurant in Milwaukee?
"Strange Town - I think about their adaptogenic chocolate cake more than I’d like to admit."
If you could gain one superpower, what would you choose?
"Understand and communicate in any language."
Describe what a perfect day for you would look like.
"Starting the day with meditation and tea, and a beautiful hike. Doing work that feels meaningful, which might include teaching yoga, tutoring, or studying something I care about. Playing or listening to music, dancing, cooking dinner with friends, and getting to bed early."
