is bringing longer, hotter summers to Wisconsin. As temperatures rise, heat-related illness is becoming a growing concern. But we can protect ourselves and our communities:
• Stay hydrated – drink water throughout the day, even if you’re not thirsty
• Take cool breaks – find air conditioning or shaded areas
• Check on neighbors and loved ones
• Know the warning signs, including dizziness, nausea, confusion, rapid heartbeat
• Never leave anyone in a parked car – temperatures spike fast
• Wear light, loose-fitting clothing
• Limit outdoor activity during peak heat hours (10 a.m. to 4 p.m.)
➡ If someone shows signs of heat illness, move them to a cool place and call 911.
