Meet Brittany! Brittany is one of our amazing CNAs at Azura Palliative Care & Hospice. When asked, this is her WHY….
“I became a Certified Nursing Assistant because I have always had a strong desire to help and care for others. Working as a CNA has given me the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives, especially during some of their most vulnerable moments. Over the years, I have gained experience providing hands-on care, offering emotional support, and making sure each person feels respected, comfortable, and valued.
My experience as a CNA has taught me that caregiving is about much more than helping with someone’s physical needs. It is also about listening, being patient, showing compassion, and building trust with the people in my care and their families.
I was especially drawn to hospice because of the opportunity to provide comfort and dignity at the end of life. Hospice care allows me to focus on the whole person—not just their medical needs, but also their emotional and spiritual well-being. I believe that every person deserves to feel safe, heard, respected, and cared for, regardless of where they are in their journey.
What I find most meaningful about hospice is being able to bring comfort to patients and support to their families during an incredibly difficult time. Sometimes the smallest things—a gentle touch, a kind conversation, a smile, or simply being present—can mean so much.
Being a CNA in hospice is both a responsibility and a privilege. It has taught me to appreciate life, cherish every moment, and never underestimate the importance of compassion. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve others and to make a positive difference in the lives of the patients and families I encounter.”
