Tennison received a new climbing playset today! After some slight struggling with the RN and myself trying to put it together brother came to the rescue 🤣
This is perfect for Tennison to practice his climbing safely and enjoy going down a fast slide. Tennison is mostly hesitant with slides so hopefully this will help him be more comfortable with it. Overall, it's been a success, minus the wheels that have yet to be screwed in 🤣

A while back I shared of an upcoming potential speaking opportunity. I'm excited to share the proposal was accepted and I will be able to present this coming November with Thomas's Life Without a Trachea.
How excited I am for November to share at the Children Come First Connections conference.
I have waited 7 years for this moment, 7 years to share part of our story.
A story that is of not only physical disability and inclusion but of mental health and advocacy and growth of a lifelong friendship woven together by a typically rare and lethal congenital defect.
A story of hope!

Tonight, I hug him a little tighter, say a little longer of a prayer, and sit in his room a little while longer.
This weekend we received some devastating news. Out of respect that news will not be shared, though I will share a piece of what my friend shared,
"Life has a way of reminding us that tomorrow isn’t promised. If you’ve ever wondered whether someone knows you care about them, tell them. Hug your kids. Call your parents. Reach out to your friends. Don’t leave love unsaid."
As I hurt I am reminded of the God we serve, the Father who good.
Time is but a blink of an eye. Tell those who you care about that you love them "don't leave love unsaid."
To all of you who pour out your love and share in the life of Tennison, we appreciate and love you.

Last weekend Grandma and Grandpa Vickie Hankins- Totten came for a visit! Tennison just loves time with them. He does not get to see them often, a handful of times throughout the year, so every visit is special.
This is Grandpa racing Tennison down the driveway with his super fast Rifton bike. We also went to Titletown in Green Bay and spent some time playing around and just hanging out at home.
Of all the moments, I think Tennison enjoyed bedtime prayers the most. 💙💙💙

While this is not a typical post, it's one that's on my heart to share.
We live just 15 miles or so away from where this tornado landed.
This is devastating.
This is our community.
The footage has been surreal.

While I am praying for the community I'm counting our blessings.
The kids and RN were bunkered in the basement.
Thankful we have a basement.
We have minimal tree/ branch damage.
Our home and out buildings are in tact.
Everyone is safe.

Hug those you love a little tighter and tell them an 'I love you' tonight.

Tonight we made an evening run to sunflower fields. It was spur of the moment and was a beautiful time. So much love in this picture with sister and brother. ❤️💙💙
Tennison went running to the flowers, observing, smelling, and enjoying them.
These are moments I dreamed of once upon a time; moments I was never sure I would see. I''m so grateful for these continued moments in life.
Seeing Tennison and his love for life, watching his light shine, makes being his mommy one of my greatest blessings. 💙💙💙

Tennison preparing for bedtime and really going at those teeth! He made me laugh out loud when he went in for the mouthwash 🤣🤣
Tennison was intubated most of his first year, this, plus other medical complications, hindered his suck/swallow reflux and caused significant oral aversion. It has taken years to get to this point today! A vibration toothbrush, spitting, and rinsing!! Some days I stand in awe wondering when did we get here? 💙💙💙
