Timothy Alan Isaksen

It is with heavy hearts and cherished memories that we announce the passing of Timothy Alan Isaksen, a beloved husband, friend, and community member. Tim passed away on August 11, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and an enduring spirit that touched everyone he met.

Born on November 5, 1945, in Saint Paul, Minnesota, Tim was a man whose life was marked by dedication, love, and an unwavering commitment to those he held dear. He was a skilled electrician by education, and he utilized his talents and knowledge throughout his career as an Electrical Engineer. Tim was known not only for his technical expertise but also for his ability to approach every challenge with a sense of calm and diligence.

For 40 beautiful years, Tim shared his life with his loving wife, Mary Isaksen. Together, they built a home filled with laughter, love, and mutual respect. Their partnership was an inspiring testament to devotion and companionship. Tim and Mary had a shared passion for travel, creating countless memories in places like California, Mexico, and Arizona. These adventures were more than just travels—they were a celebration of their shared journey.

Tim had a love for target shooting and reloading bullets, a hobby that reflected his meticulous nature and appreciation for precision. Yet, beyond his skills and hobbies, Tim's true gift lay in his ability to make everyone feel welcome. His infectious smile and genuine warmth were a comfort to all who had the privilege of knowing him. He was a man who was liked by everyone and whose presence brought joy and peace.

To honor Tim's life, a Visitation will be 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., Thursday, August 20, 2026 at Stehn Family Chapels, 2906 SE Harrison St, Milwaukie, OR 97222. A Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be 10:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 21, 2026, at Saint Patrick Catholic Church, 498 NW 9th Ave, Canby, OR 97013, with a luncheon to follow. We will reconvene at 2:00 p.m. for a Cemetery Service at Saint Patrick Catholic Church Cemetery, 10050 S New Era Rd, Canby, OR 97013. Family, friends, and all those whose lives were touched by Tim are invited to join in celebrating his remarkable life.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, in keeping with Tim's spirit of generosity and his desire to make the world a better place.

Timothy Isaksen will be deeply missed, but the love he shared and the memories he created will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Wilfredo "Willie" Garcia Santos

Wilfredo “Willie” Garcia Santos, 74, Portland, Oregon passed away on July 14, 2026.

Willie was born in Manila on July 8, 1952 to Celso and Natividad Santos. Growing up in the Philippines, Willie had an entrepreneurial spirit and a love for food, which he learned through his grandmother, “Big Lola,” who taught him about the restaurant and casino business. He attended high school at Ateneo de Manila followed by earning his bachelor's degree in hotel and restaurant management from the University of the Philippines. School proved integral for forming relationships that would propel him forward.

He immigrated to the United States in 1986, living in California, and eventually settling in Portland, Oregon. Living in the Pacific Northwest was the perfect place for Willie to thrive in his passions. A great outdoorsman, Willie loved to fish, hunt for deer, bear, and elk, forage for mushrooms, and camp. Family memories were often forged in the outdoors where Willie would set-up elaborate campsites, with heated tents and even a bathroom! Willie had a love for gear, and will always be remembered for his level of preparation. Willie loved to cook for others and showed his love through his food. His clam linguine, pork adobo, and Korean BBQ were particular favorites in the family for special occasions. After a big meal, Willie would often joke, “Let’s go to McDonald’s now!”

Willie showed his care for people through actions rather than words and would give freely to others. He played an important role in the lives of many relatives who came to the U.S. who needed housing and support.

Willie is survived by his siblings, Alberto (Kathryn), Maricelna (Jose), Lilia Irene (Don), Celso, Jr. (Nancy), and Caesardo; wife, of 39 years, Maria “Chiqui” Santos; four children, Wilfredo, Jr. (Roselen), Nico (Zeke), Georgina (Adam), and Antoinette (Mike); and four grandchildren.

A Visitation will be held from 1 to 5 p.m., Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at Stehn Family Chapels, Milwaukie, Oregon. A Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be 11:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 noon, Wednesday, July 22, 2026 at Our Lady of Sorrows, Portland, Oregon. His remains will be laid to rest 11a.m., Tuesday, July 28, 2026 at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Gresham, Oregon, followed by a reception at HK Cafe, Portland, OR.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to ALS Northwest which provided Willie much support in the latter years of his life.

Elaine Louise Brauckmiller

Elaine L. Brauckmiller, beloved by her family and friends, passed away on May 9th, 2026, at age 85, in Portland, Oregon after complications from a fall at home. Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, Claire and Ruth Palmer; brother, Charles; sister, Barbara Forrey; and son, Mark.

Elaine was born November 19, 1940, in Boise, Idaho, and moved to Portland as a child. She met her husband, Bob on a blind date at age 16, and they married not long after, and have been married for 68 years. She graduated from Jefferson High School, and followed Bob to college at George Fox. Their son, Mark was born in June 1959, and daughter, Tami was born in December of 1960.

After moving into their home in North Portland, Elaine and Bob began fostering babies from Waverly Children’s Home. They have taken care of and were able to name 36 babies that were awaiting adoptions, and ultimately adopted 2 as their own: Marci & Todd. Elaine also babysat for numerous families for many years. On top of caregiving and raising a family, she began her work life as a secretary at O.W.T. in Portland, then on to Yellow Freight to earn a retirement and pension.

Elaine loved spending time with her family at reunions, picnics, and holiday gatherings and grandkids’ sporting or school events. She was always willing to take on new craft projects with Tami or go to one more ball game to watch Mark play, or even to games to watch Bob play as well.

Elaine is survived by her husband, Bob; daughter-in-law, Sheri; daughters, Tami Stenberg and husband, Steve, and Marci Sanchez, and husband, Joe; son, Todd; eight grandchildren, Michael Brauckmiler, Jennifer Mace and husband, Cody, Pete Stenberg and wife, Jessica, Rachel Stenberg and husband, Andrew, Clara, Grace, & Lily Sanchez, and Todd Brauckmiller Jr.; and four great-grandchildren, Dominic & Kai Mace, and Grant & Genevieve Stenberg.

Jacqueline Lee Bourquin

Jacqueline "Jackie" Lee Bourquin, age 89, passed away on February 14, 2026. She is now reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband, Odie; her daughters, Traci and Pati; her son, Kenny; and all of her cherished pugs.Jackie is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Lori (Jim); son, James; brother, Allan (Connie); nine grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense pride and joy.Jackie lived a life centered on family, humor, and simple wisdom. She will always be remembered for her favorite sayings, "for goodness sakes" and "it is what it is," which perfectly captured her spirited and practical outlook on life.Jackie worked as a bus driver for the North Clackamas School District and later enjoyed driving for the Milwaukie Senior Center. She especially loved bringing her grandchildren along for the ride, creating lasting memories along the way.On December 23, 1954, Jackie married the love of her life, Odie. Together, they built a life full of laughter and adventure. Fondly known as the "Bickersons," their playful banter reflected the deep love and devotion they shared. They enjoyed many road trips together, especially to the Oregon coast, where countless treasured memories were made.A Cemetery Service will be held, 10:15 am, Friday, May 1, 2026, at Willamette National Cemetery, Portland, Oregon; where Jackie will be laid to rest alongside her husband and son, Kenny.A Celebration of Jackie's life will follow on May 2, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Rivercrest Park in Oregon City. Family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and honor her life.

Dorothy Ann Sorenson

Dorothy was born on January 27, 1930 in Walnut, Kansas. She was the 7th child of Clarence Moses Stanley and Edith Myers. Three additional siblings were born after Dorothy. All ten children were born on their family farm. During the summer of 1937 the family migrated to Oregon because of the great dust bowl. They purchased a home on 5 acres in Jennings Lodge. She described how 10 people lived with only 2 bedrooms and no indoor plumbing. Grandma and granddad shared the larger room with the 4 boys, Frank, Arnold, Ben and Glen. Dorothy shared a room with her 3 sisters, Ruth, Annola, and Ethel. There was a pot in the hallway for night bathroom visits. During the day they all used the outhouse for those needs. Eventually, they were able to install running water in the old farmhouse. Dorothy loved to read so much so that one time it was her turn to cook the family dinner and she was so interested in a book she burnt the entire dinner!

Dorothy attended Oregon City High School and the Jennings Lodge Church, where she met Eugene Elias Sorenson. They married on August 14, 1949 and that marriage lasted until Gene’s death in June of 2024. She had five children: Diana, Ken, Larry, David, and Lois. She resided nearly all her married life in Milwaukie, Oregon. Her husband, Gene, and son, Ken, and all her siblings, died before her. She was blessed with 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Dorothy was a strong confident woman who was devoted to her husband and family. Her volunteer activities hint of her love and concern for humanity, country, and her faith in God. She worked on every election board and organized all the blood drives at her church. Dorothy wasn’t much of a talker. She was a doer. Every Sunday she attended church. Again, she didn’t talk much about her faith. Instead, she lived it out. Dorothy was kind, humble, faithful, loyal, welcoming, and forgiving.

She loved being around her family and friends. She often hosted bunco parties, pinochle games, and any kind of card games. She and dad used to square dance and she would sew fancy dresses and shirts for that. She also was a skilled knitter and crocheter. She talked a lot about vacationing with her sister, Anne, at casinos and renting homes at the beach with all her siblings. She definitely had fear of missing out. When people arrived at her house, she would jump up or later in life wheeled out to greet them.

On December 1, 2024, Dorothy moved in with her daughter, Lois and son-in-law, Kevin, in the Vancouver area. Dorothy continued to enjoy her love of cards, puzzles, reading, favorite tv shows, and car rides on beautiful days. She loved sitting on the south-facing deck and waving at people who passed by.

Her new favorite friend was an 85-pound chocolate lab called Grizzly. On December 19, 2025, she fell and required more detailed care. In times of agitation, Dorothy was calmed by receiving prayer, hearing scripture, and listening to hymns and praise music. She often would sing along to Amazing Grace, Jesus Loves Me, and How Great Thou Art.

Even at the end of her life when she wasn’t feeling well, she was able to smile, laugh, and think of others. One attribute that stands out most about Dorothy is her ability to maintain a positive attitude, accepting circumstances as they occurred, and doing her best to adapt. She never forgot that she was a daughter of the King, Jesus Christ, and could enjoy His peace throughout her life. She remained living with Lois and Kevin until her death on April 18, 2026.

A Celebration of Life will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 9, 2026 at Stehn Family Chapels Milwaukie Tribute Center, Milwaukie, Oregon. Private inurnment will be held at Mountain View Cemetery, Oregon City, Oregon.

Paul Bohl

Paul Bohl passed away leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, and quiet strength. He was a hardworking man, a devoted father, and someone whose presence meant the world to those who knew him.

For many years, Paul worked as a long-haul truck driver, spending countless hours on the road to provide for his family. He took pride in his work and was known for his reliability, determination, and strong work ethic. The open highway was familiar to him, but no matter how far he traveled, his heart was always at home with his family.

Above all else, Paul was a loving father to his two daughters, who were the center of his world. He supported them in every way he could and found his greatest joy in their happiness and success. His love was constant, protective, and unconditional.

Earlier in his life, Paul also served in the United States Army as a tank operator, an experience that shaped his discipline and sense of responsibility, though he remained humble about that chapter of his life.

Paul will be remembered for his humor, kindness, steady nature, and the deep love he had for his family. His memory will live on in the hearts of his daughters and all who were fortunate enough to know him.

He will be greatly missed and forever loved. May he rest in peace.

Susan Jane Vermillion

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Susan Jane (Anderson) Vermillion, affectionately known as Susie, who left us surrounded by love and family. Born on May 17, 1962, to Andy and Barbara Anderson, Susie was the beloved middle child among five siblings.

Susie grew up in a lively household, cherishing the unique bonds she shared with her brothers and sisters. She attended Rex Putnam High School, graduating with the class of 1980, and went on to pursue her passion for the arts at the local community college. Susie was a gifted artist who found joy and fulfillment in drawing and painting, talents that brought inspiration and beauty to those around her.

On October 16, 1982, Susie married the love of her life, Norman Vermillion. Together, they built a devoted family and welcomed two wonderful sons, Benjamin and Steven. Her role as a mother was one of her greatest joys, which grew even deeper with the arrival of her four cherished grandchildren. Susie's heart was always open, and she took immense pride in her growing family.

Professionally, Susie dedicated many years to the Clackamas County School District, where her warmth and kindness touched colleagues and students alike. After retiring, she treasured the time she was able to spend with Norman, embracing the quiet moments and adventures they shared together.

Susie leaves behind a legacy of love, creativity, and compassion. She is survived by her loving husband, Norman; sons, Benjamin and wife, Stephanie, and Steven and wife, Morgan; four beautiful grandchildren; siblings; and a large extended family who will continue to honor her memory. Susie was a beacon of light in the lives of all who knew her and she will be deeply missed.

Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in the memories and the love Susie shared with each of us. Her spirit will remain with us always.

Herman Miller Stewart

Herman Miller Stewart, aka Jim, was 99 years of age, when he passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 8th, 2025, in Clackamas, Oregon.

Herman had been planning to make it to his 100th birthday in April 2026, but God called him to his Heavenly Home five months before that Big Birthday!

Herman was one of eleven children born to Alonzo Claude and Effie Ellen Stewart of Oldham County, Kentucky. Herman was the third to the youngest of the eleven children and was driving a tractor on the farm at the age of five years old. At the age of nine Herman used to help his Uncle take moonshine made at his Uncle’s still, into town and sell it. Herman enlisted in the Navy in March of 1944 at the age of 17; he had to have his Dad sign for him. Herman served as a Gunner, GM3c, aboard the USS St. Patrick, PC563. During World War II Herman’s Patrol Craft was acknowledged for having sunk One Submarine, shot one Bomber down and two Fighter Planes.

Herman was in the Philippines when General MacArthur went ashore, and the Philippines became a liberated country. Herman recounts the story that when General MacArthur first stepped off the Landing Craft, he sunk in the water up to his armpits. Since everything was being filmed they got back on board the Landing Craft and found a spot near shore that wasn’t as deep as the first attempt. General MacArthur then jumped off the Landing Craft and walked ashore.

For 3 weeks prior to his death he was cared for by a wonderful family at their Lilac Adult Care Home in Clackamas. They had family living in the Philippines at the time their country was liberated. They called Herman a Hero for being a part of the US Military that helped liberate their country.

Herman, who was known as ‘Stew” on board ship, was the only non-drinker among the crew. He was selected to be the Captain’s designated driver whenever the Captain left the ship. Herman was also known as one of the top sharp- shooters with a rifle on board ship. During practice shooting Herman was known to hit every target that was thrown in the Ocean.

While Herman was on Liberty in Portland, Oregon he met Betty Ruth Sorrell on a street corner. It was during their three months of dating that Betty asked Herman if she could call him Jimmy; that is how his name was changed to Jimmy. Three months after meeting they were married. After Herman was discharged from the Navy he officially moved from Kentucky to Portland, Oregon.

Herman and Betty were married for 73 years and had 6 children, 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandkids. Herman was a “Superhero” to all of his family and always gave 110% to every family situation. Herman worked for the Portland Traction Co and TriMet for 40 years after moving to Oregon.

Herman was an avid hunter and fisherman. During the salmon runs you could find him out on his boat “Daddy’s Toy” fishing for the big one. He also enjoyed gardening and took care of 3 large gardens. Herman was always helping his neighbors with anything they needed.

Herman was preceded in death by his wife, Betty and much-loved grandson and son-in-law: Timothy Palmer and Ron Hodges. He is survived by his children, Mary Hodges, John Stewart (Kathleen), Patricia Stewart, Linda Palmer (Michael), Steve Stewart and Susan Stewart Broqvist. The family thanks treasured friends and neighbors, Sonny and Sally Newsom.

A Celebration of Life and Military Honors will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at Stehn Family Chapels Milwaukie Tribute Center, Milwaukie, Oregon. Private interment will be held at Willamette National Cemetery, Portland, Oregon.
