Marquis resident Kathy—known by her friends as “Trouble”—has always lived life boldly. She’d done everything from scuba-diving to skiing and calligraphy, but she had never visited the Portland Japanese Garden. 🌸

The Marquis Tualatin team planned a special day just for her, starting with a bus ride alongside her high school best friend up into Washington Park. At the gardens, Kathy explored peaceful paths lined with bonsai trees, koi ponds, and tranquil streams, taking in every detail and even picking out a few souvenirs along the way.

The day continued at the International Rose Test Garden, where memories came rushing back. Smelling the blooms, she smiled and shared: “My boyfriend and I used to sneak in here at night and take flowers to bring home to our mothers.” 💐

Once they returned to Marquis Tualatin, everyone was happily stuffed from lunch, still carrying big smiles and lots of joy from their adventures in the gardens of Portland. ✨💕

A little rain won't stop Marquis Hope Village from showing up! 🌧️🎪

Our recent brought residents, families, staff, and volunteers together for a day full of carnival games, cotton candy, face painting, a dunk tank, and a silent auction.

Most importantly, the event raised more than $2,500 for the Alzheimer's Association Oregon Chapter, with Vital Life Foundation matching the donation.

Thank you to everyone who came out, volunteered, donated, and helped make the day such a success! 🧡

Beverly has always been a woman of the spotlight. For years, the neon heartbeat of the Las Vegas Strip was her playground, and over time, those nights out became less frequent. 🌟

The team at Marquis Plaza Regency knew The Wizard of Oz was one of the first films Beverly ever saw in a theater, so they planned a special experience to bring her back to the magic she’s always loved. 🌈✨

Alongside her son, daughter-in-law, and grandchild, Beverly and her care team headed to a matinee showing at the Sphere.

Surrounded by three generations of her family, Beverly was once again lit up by the excitement of the show: “It was so great to go out and spend time with my family.” 🧡

At 83, Connie had never visited her father’s grave since he passed—until her care team at Marquis Plaza Regency made it possible.

On a beautiful fall morning, Connie set out for the journey. A proud WWII veteran, her father is buried alongside her mother at the Veterans Cemetery in Boulder City, NV. 🇺🇸

When they arrived, the team quickly located her parents’ gravesite. Connie sat beside the headstone, reading their names and taking in the moment. Left to reflect, she quietly wished her mother a happy birthday, just a week away.

Before leaving, she learned her uncle, also a WWII veteran, was buried nearby. Moments later, she visited his headstone as well. As they began to head back, Connie smiled and said, “I had a good day today.” 🧡

On a warm spring day, Bob, a resident at Marquis Autumn Hills, attended his first baseball game in years. As a former umpire and coach, he spent years on and off the field, playing, teaching, and sharing his love of the game with others.

When Bob and his care team arrived at the Portland Pickles Baseball stadium, his excitement was immediate. Their first stop was the concession stand: “You can’t beat baseball and Cracker Jack,” Bob exclaimed. ⚾🥜

Throughout the game, he was right back in it: offering commentary on calls, cheering on the players, and sharing stories from his time on the field. In the seventh inning, he joined the crowd for “Take Me Out to the Ballgame,” fully immersed in the moment.

As the game came to a close, Bob smiled and said, “We picked a good one. I gotta do this again.”
