Inclement Weather Closure-

To error on the side of safety for our patients and staff, our office has decided to close Thursday, February 13th. We will have staff reviewing portal messages and sending prescriptions. We encourage you to send a portal message if you have any questions.

We do know this is Portland and there is always the chance that nothing will happen. However, our first priority is making sure our staff and patients can get to and from our office safely.

Lake Road Family Medicine Welcomes Samantha Adkins, MD.

Dr. Adkins strives to provide excellent preventative women health care. Special interests include menopause care, hormonal imbalance, contraception, management of abnormal bleeding, and abnormal Pap smears. Her friendly and informative style puts her patients at ease.

Dr. Adkins is board certified is Obstetrics and Gynecology who is now focusing her practice on office Gynecology. Dr. Adkins grew up in Minnesota. She earned her B.S. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of MN - Duluth. She attended the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, WI where she received her M.D. She completed her internship and residency at the University of Texas-Houston Memorial Hermann Hospital. She has been board certified in obstetrics and gynecology since 2009. Prior to joining Lake Road family medicine, Dr. Adkins spent 15 years in full scope OB/GYN practices in both Houston and Portland.

When Dr. Adkins isn’t caring for patients, she enjoys working in her garden, running, and hiking on trails throughout Oregon, knitting and traveling with her husband and three children.

Happy Monday! Our phone system is having troubles this morning. We are not able to hear the person on the line when we are answering the calls. The issue is known and our phone company is working quickly to resolve this. Please be patient with us! If you have an appointment today and you can't hear us when you call to check in please come into the office. We may still ask that you wait in your car if an exam room is not available. Thank you for your patience and we apologize for this inconvenience.

We spoke to soon last night... this morning we lost our phones and internet again. We are doing our best to continue seeing patients today. If you have a scheduled appointment please come into the office to check in. Afterwards you will wait in your car until your room is ready. The best way to reach us is through the patient portal. Our office has restored internet and power this evening. We will be open tomorrow and fully functioning. Please keep in mind that we have been closed for a period of time, wait times may be longer and our schedules may be busier to try to accommodate our patients. Thank you for your patience and we hope everyone is staying safe and warm!

I hope everyone is staying safe and warm in this crazy weather! To keep our staff and patients safe, our office will be opening late on Monday- 2/15/2021. Our plan is to open at 12:00 pm. We will update our patients if this changes! Again, stay safe and warm!

Lake Road Family Medicine continues to monitor the Coronavirus COVID-19 situation and will update our protocol accordingly with our staff. Our patient’s health and safety are one of our top priorities.
*Appointments for those over 65 or immune compromised will have appointments postponed, unless absolutely necessary to be seen now.
*All well people (well child checks, annual physicals, etc) will be seen in the first part of the day. Anyone with any respiratory or other illness is not to come in during these hours.
* Most cases of COVID-19 are mild. If you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 – fever, cough, flu-like symptoms – it’s recommended you stay home until you feel well. If your symptoms worsen, and you have questions about your care, please call your primary care provider before visiting a medical office.
For severe symptoms – high-fever, changes in consciousness, shortness of breath – please call 911 or go to the closest emergency room.
We will let you know if/when this changes and there is a role for wider testing, which is not available at this time. Our office does not have the capability to perform testing for Covid-19.
*Any necessary sick visit will be seen in the later part of the day, with immediate mask and rooming (no time in the waiting room).
*All rooms, pens, stethoscopes, beds, chairs, restrooms will be wiped down between every patient and again on a regular hourly schedule.
*All toys and magazines have been removed from our waiting areas.
*No cash will be accepted at our office during this time.
With the rapidly changing guidelines and recommendations from the State and CDC, we will continue to keep everyone informed to the best of our ability. Our number one priority is to keep our staff and patients healthy so we can continue to provide the best care for our patients.
