🚒💧 HELP KEEP OUR FIREFIGHTERS HYDRATED THIS SUMMER! 💧🚒

As temperatures continue to climb across Palo Pinto County, our volunteer firefighters are spending long hours training, responding to emergencies, fighting fires, and serving our communities. To help keep them safe and hydrated, Palo Pinto County ESD No. 1 is asking for donations of:

✅ Bottled Water
✅ Gatorade
✅ Powerade
✅ Electrolyte Drinks

📍 Donations may be dropped off at any of our 10 volunteer fire stations throughout Palo Pinto County.

Graford • PK East • PK West • Strawn • Gordon • Lake Palo Pinto • Palo Pinto • Lone Camp • Santo • Brazos

Your support helps ensure firefighters have the hydration they need while responding to emergencies in extreme Texas heat.

Our volunteer firefighters give their time to protect our communities. A simple case of water can make a big difference during a long incident.

Thank you for supporting the men and women who serve Palo Pinto County. ❤️🚒

We love seeing our providers out in the community sharing their knowledge and connecting with local organizations.

Yesterday, Dr. David Blocker, Medical Director of our Wound Care Center, spoke to the Mineral Wells Noon Lions Club about hyperbaric oxygen therapy, wound care, and his passion for preventive medicine. He also shared his background, his journey into medicine, and why helping patients heal is so important to him.

Thank you to the Mineral Wells Noon Lions Club for the invitation and the opportunity to share information about the specialized wound care services available right here in our community. We are proud to have providers like Dr. Blocker who are dedicated to improving the health and well-being of the people we serve.

PPGH is looking forward to joining the fun at the Boyce Ditto Public Library Block Party tomorrow, June 5, from 5 to 7 p.m.!

Be sure to stop by our booth and let the kids create their own sun visor to help them get into the summer spirit while staying protected from the Texas sun. Our team loves opportunities like this to get out into the community and spend time with the families we serve.

Summer safety tip: A sunburn can happen in as little as 15 minutes, even on cloudy days. Don't forget the sunscreen, water, and a hat when you're spending time outdoors.

We can't wait to see everyone tomorrow!

Don't miss the Summer Reading Kickoff at the Mineral Wells Public Library! Register now and participate in the 2026 program with games, giveaways, and more.

May is International Mediterranean Diet Month!

The Mediterranean diet is one of the most researched and recommended ways of eating, linked to better heart health, improved blood sugar control, reduced inflammation, sharper thinking, and a lower risk of chronic disease. Best of all, it focuses on enjoying food, not feeling deprived.

This lifestyle encourages:
• Plenty of fruits and vegetables
• Healthy fats like olive oil, nuts, and avocados
• Whole grains and legumes
• Fish and lean proteins
• Staying active and sharing meals with others

Small changes can make a big difference over time. Try adding more colorful foods, swapping butter for olive oil, or making fruits and nuts your go-to snack this month!

If you have questions about your diet or health needs, talk with your medical provider or a registered dietitian to find what works best for you.
