I have spent over 30 years navigating the twists and turns of marriage, as well as 25+ years raising high-energy, chaotic kids who don't conform to society's or school's standards. Despite not fitting in, my children are quirky, funny, and possess ginormous hearts. Throughout the past two de

cades, I have dedicated myself to helping my family successfully navigate the challenges that come with ADHD. Now, I am extending my expertise to assist others in finding independence, success, and bringing joy back into their parenting and family life!

When working with new individuals or families facing ADHD-related struggles, I begin by offering a compassionate and understanding ear. It is important for me to create a safe space for open communication. Additionally, I provide education on ADHD to normalize the difficulties associated with this condition. By gaining insight and understanding into how ADHD affects daily life, we can shift our focus towards effective problem-solving strategies.

Once we have established a foundation of empathy and knowledge about ADHD, we embark on a journey of co-creating solutions that address the specific challenges you face due to your ADHD. Together, we work towards finding practical strategies that enhance your ability to manage time effectively, improve organization skills, develop coping mechanisms for impulsivity and distractibility, strengthen relationships, boost self-esteem and overall well-being.

It is a freeing way to think about parenting a neurodiverse child.

After conversations about screen time, one question often comes up:

โ€œShould I just take the device away?โ€

Sometimes limits are needed.

But lasting change rarely starts with removal. It starts with understanding what the screen is providing.

Is it a place where a child feels successful? Connected? Safe? A way to cope?

When we understand the need behind the screen, we can help children build more ways to meet those needs.

The deep breath before you respond.โ€จShowing up again after a hard day.โ€จChoosing curiosity when frustration would be easier.โ€จโ€จThese moments may not feel extraordinary.โ€จโ€จBut they matter more than you know. ๐Ÿ’œโ€จโ€จ

One thing I hope parents never lose is their curiosity.

Not because it gives us all the answers โ€” but because it helps us ask better questions.

Questions that create space before we react, and help us understand our children and ourselves a little better.

Thatโ€™s the conversation I hope to have in my upcoming presentation: not about having all the answers, but about exploring better questions together.

If youโ€™d like to be part of it, Iโ€™d love to have you join us. ๐Ÿ’œ

For a long time, I thought helping neurodivergent kids was all about finding the right strategy.

Then I realized something that changed everything.

The greatest difference often begins with empowering the adults who love and support them.

When parents understand how their childโ€™s brain works, shift from frustration to curiosity, and gain practical tools they can use every day, everything starts to change.

Not because the child becomes someone different but because theyโ€™re finally supported in ways that honor who they are.

Thatโ€™s why Iโ€™m so excited to be speaking at ADHD Toolbox LIVE for Parents on August 4โ€“5.

My session, โ€œEmpowering Parents to Empower Neurodivergent Kids,โ€ is all about helping parents build confidence, strengthen connection, and create an environment where their children can truly thrive.

If youโ€™re parenting a neurodivergent child or know someone who is, I hope youโ€™ll join us.

Youโ€™ll hear from a wonderful lineup of experts, gain practical insights, and leave with tools you can start using right away.

Kathy and I have spent years connecting with parents and professionals, sharing strategies, answering questions, and creating those โ€œahaโ€ moments.

But we knew not everyone could make it to a workshop.

So we brought the conversation online โ€” giving more people the chance to learn, connect, and feel supported wherever they are.

If youโ€™ve ever wished you could join one of our workshops, weโ€™d love to have you pull up a chair. ๐Ÿ’œ
