The snow is here Minnesota! Whiplash is one of the most common injuries that we see during these cold winter months. When the roads and sidewalks are icy and slick like today it's easy to find yourself in a tough situation. Whiplash can be caused by falls, athletic collisions, or car accidents and can be incredibly painful and disruptive to your everyday life. Whiplash occurs when the body is je**ed suddenly backward and then forward, causing the neck/upper back muscles, tendons, and ligaments to stretch beyond their normal range of motion. Symptoms of whiplash include neck pain and stiffness, headaches, shoulder pain or stiffness, dizziness, difficulty sleeping due to uncomfortable positions of the head or neck, fatigue, difficulty concentrating, blurred vision, ringing in the ears (tinnitus), irritability or depression. These symptoms may not become apparent until days after the injury has occurred.
