When the day finally quiets down, many parents find themselves replaying the hard moments.

The meltdown.
The transition that fell apart.
The moment you wondered if you were too firm, too soft, too late, too much.

If you’ve ever asked yourself, “Did I miss something?” you’re not alone.

And it doesn’t mean you’re doing it wrong.

It often means you’re trying to understand your child with the tools you have, and you may simply need a different lens.

In my work with children and families, I’ve found that behavior is often communication. Children don’t always have the words, skills, or nervous system organization to explain what is happening inside, so their bodies and behavior speak first.

That’s why I’m glad to be part of this free online parenting summit:

Why Is My Child Acting This Way?
Helping You Understand Your Child... So You Can Enjoy Parenting Again

The summit runs September 1–6 and includes one conversation each day with professionals offering different ways to understand what may be underneath children’s behavior.

My conversation focuses on the body, early movement, and the nervous system, and how these pieces shape the way children learn, regulate, relate, and move through the world.

If you’re looking for a more compassionate, grounded way to understand your child’s behavior, this may be a helpful place to begin.

And please feel free to share this with families, colleagues, or communities who may find it helpful. The more thoughtful adults we have around children, the better.

When learning is hard, the body tells a story.

Many children are very bright, yet still struggling in school. The underlying cause may be in the body and the tells are often misunderstood.

Do you know a child who is very bright and......

They aren’t reading at grade level.
They can’t stay seated with the group.
They melt down over transitions.
They struggle to follow step-by-step directions.
Their body seems restless, tense, floppy, or overwhelmed.

Baby Bare Professional Training looks underneath these patterns through the lens of early movement, primitive reflexes, and nervous system organization.

This work helps professionals ask a different question:

Not “How do we get this child to try harder?”
But “What developmental support might their nervous system still be asking for?”

The 2027 Baby Bare Professional Training is open for registration in Minnesota.

And through Sept. 1, full-year registrants can use the Study Buddy option to invite a colleague to join them at a discount.

When a child is struggling, it’s easy to get pulled into the question:

“How do I stop this behavior?”

But often, the more useful question is:

“What is my child trying to tell me?”

Children don’t always have the words, skills, or nervous system organization to explain what is happening inside. Their bodies and behavior often speak first.

That’s why I’m glad to be part of a free online parenting summit called:

Why Is My Child Acting This Way?
Helping You Understand Your Child... So You Can Enjoy Parenting Again

During the summit, you’ll hear from several professionals offering different lenses on children’s behavior and what may be happening underneath it.

My conversation focuses on the body, early movement, and the nervous system, and how these pieces can shape the way children learn, regulate, relate, and move through the world.

If you’ve ever felt like you’re only managing the surface and want to better understand what may be underneath, this summit may be a helpful place to begin.

I want to clear up something that can be confusing:

**Baby Bare Training is not just for people who work with babies.**

The name came from my book, and it made sense there. But the professional training has always been for a wider circle of people.

Yes, infant workers are very much at home in this work.

And also, Baby Bare Professional Training is for educators, therapists, special education professionals, body-based practitioners, caregivers, and helpers who want to understand how **early movement and the nervous system wire us for life**.

This training is for people who look at confusing symptoms and think:

**There is something else going on here.**

The child who leans on the desk to write.
The student who struggles with horizontal eye tracking for reading.
The child whose emotional regulation feels out of reach.
The teen whose anxiety lives in the body.
The adult whose nervous system that is exhausted from compensating for unfinished business from early development.

This work starts with infancy because early movement is where so much of our nervous system organization begins.

But it does not stop with babies.

We follow those early patterns forward into learning, regulation, posture, coordination, attention, sensory processing, and wellbeing across the lifespan.

The **2027 Year-long Baby Bare Professional Training** is a live, in-person, slow and deep learning cohort in Minnesota.

It includes three in-person weekends across the year, with time to move, learn, practice, integrate, and return with better questions.

You can register for the full year, or begin with Module One.

If you’ve been wondering, “Is this really for me?” this may help you decide.

Details are here:

And if someone comes to mind as you read this, please feel free to share it with them.

Our brains and bodies are wired through early infant movement. That means our early movement is not only preparing us to walk and run but also for every other cognitive and emotional pursuit throughout life. This Bottom-up Approach

“What kinds of challenges does Baby Bare help with?”
Many professionals find their way to Baby Bare because they keep seeing the same patterns in different children.

On the social–emotional side:
• “Big” emotions and frequent meltdowns
• Anxiety and sensory overwhelm
• Trouble settling in their bodies and nervous systems

And on the academic / classroom side:
• Very bright kids who aren’t reading at grade level
• Children who can’t sit in the chair or stay with the group
• Students who are capable, but can’t follow step‑by‑step directions

In their own settings – classrooms, clinics, homes – professionals are doing everything they can, but it still feels like something deeper is driving the challenges.

In Baby Bare Professional Training, we look underneath the surface at early movement, primitive reflexes, and the nervous system. We explore how the way a brain “wires up” through movement in infancy can later show up as attention issues, regulation struggles, and learning difficulties – and how to use movement to gently support re‑organization over time.

The goal isn’t to add one more strategy on top of symptoms, but to give you a clearer map of what might be happening underneath, so your existing academic and therapeutic tools can land more effectively.

In 2027, I’ll be offering a three‑weekend, in‑person Baby Bare Professional Training cohort in Minnesota for professionals who want this kind of developmental, body‑based lens in their work with children and families.

Who is Baby Bare Training For?

If you work with kids and families and sometimes feel like you’re only seeing the tip of the iceberg, this is for you.

Baby Bare Professional Training attracts a wide mix of people under one roof: teachers, OTs and PTs, therapists, dance/movement and somatic practitioners, infant care providers, doulas, and pediatric‑focused clinicians.

On the surface those roles look very different. What they share is that they all touch human development every day.

Because Baby Bare works at such a foundational level – early movement, primitive reflexes, and the nervous system – it gives each of these professionals a clearer map of what’s happening underneath behavior, learning, and regulation, in whatever setting they work.

The variety of disciplines isn’t a distraction; it’s part of the richness of the training. People learn as much from each other’s perspectives as they do from the curriculum itself.

In 2027, I’ll be offering a three‑weekend, in‑person Baby Bare Professional Training cohort in Minnesota for this kind of cross‑pollination and deep dive.
