Today is Indigenous Peoples’ Day, and we honor the histories, contributions, and resilience of Indigenous communities.

Aliveness sits on Dakota homelands, in Mni Sota Makoce. For thousands of years, the Dakota people have cared for this land, its lakes, and the Haha Wakpa, and they continue to do so today. We honor them, along with the Ojibwe and other Indigenous nations who call this place home.

Indigenous communities have also been part of the HIV response from the beginning, showing up for one another, providing care, challenging stigma, and creating spaces for healing and connection.

Today we celebrate the Indigenous members, staff, neighbors, and partners who make up the Aliveness community. We honor your histories and stand with you in the work toward health equity and access to care.

A big thank you to Senator Omar Fateh for stopping by Aliveness Project last Friday during our Annual Member Cookout!

Senator Fateh has supported historic increases in funding for HIV services, and we were thrilled to get the chance to show Senator Fateh how those critical dollars enable the work Aliveness is doing to foster accessible care and healthy social connection for people living with and at risk for HIV. During his visit, Senator Fateh toured our food shelf, connected with members and staff at the cookout, and saw firsthand how food access, community, and connection are essential parts of our whole-person approach to health care.

We were especially excited to share more about Thrive Clinic & Pharmacy and the role community-led 340B pharmacies play in expanding access to affordable care and keeping resources rooted firmly in the communities that need them most.

We are so excited for the Red Undie Run happening on Saturday, December 5!

Every December, the Red Undie Run brings folks together to raise awareness and support people living with or at risk for HIV. Our route is just over a mile, and the dress code is simple: your red un**es. Not feeling the un**es? Wear anything red and come as you are. Everybody is welcome, so bring your people with you. Grab your friends, your coworkers, your chosen family, and register your team. Come out, brave the cold, show some skin, and help us end HIV in Minnesota.

Registration is free, and every dollar your team raises supports folks living with HIV across the state.

Some of the best moments at Aliveness don't happen in an office. They happen with our community, around a grill, a plate of good food in your hand, music playing, and people you're happy to be around.

Thank you to every member who pulled up and made our Member Cookout feel like family. To the volunteers and staff who kept everything moving, from the grill to the karaoke station, we appreciate you making the day what it was. And a big thank you to Cut for the Cause for keeping our community looking fresh with free haircuts.

Today is National Gay Men's HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, a day to encourage testing, prevention, and access to care for gay and bis*xual men across the U.S.

Gay, bis*xual, and other men who have s*x with men are still the most affected by HIV. In 2024, 25,129 new HIV diagnoses were attributed to male-to-male s*xual contact, 65% of all new diagnoses among people 13 and older, and for Black and Latino men, stigma, racism, and cost stand between them and the prevention and care they deserve.

But HIV is more than a statistic. It's about access to prevention, judgment-free testing, care you can trust, and living without shame.

Your health is yours to shape, and no matter your status, you belong at Aliveness. Whether you're looking for PrEP, HIV care, testing, peer support, or community, we're here for you.

Today is National HIV/AIDS and Aging Awareness Day. Did you know more than half of people living with HIV in the U.S. are 50 or older? That shows decades of strength, activism, and progress.

We also recognize that sometimes living longer with HIV often means managing more health conditions, more medications, and isolation, and at Aliveness, we believe that everyone aging with HIV deserves care, connection, and support to thrive.

Growing older with HIV is a victory, and no one should have to do it alone. To our long-term survivors and everyone living with HIV today: we see you, and we're with you.

In May 2025, Thrive Pharmacy filled its first prescription, and the impact in community has been beautiful to see.

Thrive Clinic and Pharmacy exists because care should meet people where they already are. Both sit under the same roof as our food shelf and a lot of our other services, so you can get tested, get on PrEP, pick up your meds, and eat lunch without leaving the building. That is not a small thing.
