What stabilizes us can also become what keeps us stuck.
This month in The Whole Within, I’m exploring the neck—not just as structure, but as a reflection of flexibility, protection, and perspective.
The neck is designed to move.
To turn.
To orient.
To respond.
But many of us carry tension here:
tightness,
stiffness,
recurring pain,
the feeling that we “can’t turn our head.”
Sometimes physically. Sometimes emotionally.
Using Ta**us as inspiration this month, I’ve been thinking about the balance between grounding and rigidity. Ta**us teaches steadiness, consistency, and safety—but when protection becomes excessive, the body and mind can both become fixed.
And often, the places with the least movement are not weak.
They’re protective.
This month, notice:
Where are you bracing?
What perspectives feel difficult to soften?
What helps you feel grounded without becoming stuck?
Because healing doesn’t always begin with force.
Sometimes it begins with enough safety for movement to return.

Next month, we’ll explore the breath and the constant exchange happening between mind and body.
