"Zu San Huo (足三火) – The Three Fires of the Leg
When needled together, Huo Lian (66.10), Huo Ju (66.11), and Huo San (66.12) are known as Zu San Huo ("The Three Fires of the Leg").
This powerful combination helps restore the communication between the Heart and Kidneys, balancing the Fire–Water relationship and regulating both excess and deficient fire in the upper body.
Clinical applications include:
• Hypertension
• Dizziness & vertigo
• Palpitations
• Insomnia
• Tension headaches
• Tinnitus
• Lower back pain due to Kidney deficiency
• Hair loss and scalp itching related to deficiency
• Cardiovascular and neurological conditions
According to Master Tung, Zu San Huo has also been used clinically for conditions such as meningitis and brain tumors (needling one side only). Other practitioners have reported its use in stroke rehabilitation, Parkinson's disease, hydrocephalus, concussion recovery, heart attack recovery, and urticaria associated with Kidney Fire imbalance."

In TCM, different teas have different temperatures, actions, and effects on the body. Some cool excess Heat 🔥, some warm Yang ☀️, and others help digestion, circulation, or mental clarity.

Here are some of my favorites 👇

🍃 Green Tea
Cooling and refreshing.
Great for clearing Heat, supporting digestion, and soothing Liver Qi.
Perfect for people who run hot, feel irritable, or tend toward inflammation.

🔥 Black Tea
More warming in nature.
Supports Yang, warms the Stomach, and can feel grounding and comforting, especially in colder weather or for people with cold digestion.

🍂 Oolong Tea
One of the best teas for moving stagnant Qi and resolving Dampness.
Traditionally used to support digestion after heavy or greasy meals.

🌱 Pu-erh Tea
Aged and earthy.
Excellent in TCM for strengthening the Spleen, transforming Dampness, and helping with that heavy, foggy feeling after overeating.

💚 Matcha
More concentrated than regular green tea.
Clears Heat while also helping focus and concentration.
Amazing for mental clarity without the crash of coffee.

🌾 Genmaicha
A gentle Japanese tea made with green tea and roasted rice.
Very grounding and easier on the Stomach than regular green tea.
Lovely for Spleen Qi deficiency and weak digestion.

🍋 Ginger & Lemon Tea
One of my FAVORITES.
Warms the middle burner, dispels cold, improves circulation, and supports digestion.
Wonderful during cold weather, early colds, cramps, or sluggish digestion.

✨ One thing I love about TCM is that we don’t just ask:
“Is this healthy?”

We ask:
👉 Is it warming or cooling?
👉 Does this person have excess or deficiency?
👉 Is digestion weak or strong?
👉 Is there Dampness, Heat, or Cold?

Because even healthy foods and teas may not be right for everyone at every time.
Your body constitution matters 💜

🍵 What's is your favourite tea?
