This resource gives families an opportunity to explore information about assisted living communities and learn more about the quality of care and services they provide.

Throwback Thursday! A Conversation Worth Revisiting!

Back in November 2023, Rakhma Homes had the wonderful opportunity to be featured on Lori La Bey's Alzheimer's Speaks podcast!

The conversation brought together members of our Rakhma team, families, friends, and healthcare professionals to share what makes our approach to memory care so special.

From the importance of personalized care and creating a family-like environment to making memory care accessible to individuals of different income levels, this conversation touched on so much of what Rakhma stands for.

One of the things we love most about this interview is hearing directly from people who have experienced the Rakhma difference firsthand.

There’s something different about walking into a Rakhma home.

You’ll smell a home cooked meal coming from the kitchen. You might find residents gathered around the table, relaxing in the living room, enjoying an activity, or simply having a quiet moment in a space that feels familiar.

That sense of normalcy matters especially for someone living with memory loss.

At Rakhma, we’ve always believed memory care should feel less like an institution and more like home. Our cozy, residential homes allow us to create meaningful connections, familiar routines, home cooked meals, and a true sense of family.

We also believe families should have options when it comes to paying for care. Rakhma is financially inclusive and accepts private pay as well as eligible waiver funding, including Elderly Waiver (EW), CADI and BI. We do not require someone to privately pay for a year before we will begin accepting an approved waiver. For individuals who are eligible and have their waiver in place, we can accept waiver funding from day one.

Because finding the right memory care shouldn’t only be about finding a bed.

It should be about finding a place where someone can still feel at home.

Memory care with heart, dignity, familiarity, and family.

Thank you to everyone who joined us Tuesday night for The Stories That Remain storytelling fundraiser!

Wow - we covered a lot of ground: from growing into loss, to Jersey cows and the State Fair, near-death experiences, farm life, bike accidents, romance and heartbreak at 93, Vi**ra, to the importance of family, faith, and community, and even a message of support from Amy Klobuchar.

And, as promised, we even got a healthy taste of the accordion and some rousing sing-a-longs.

It was a beautiful testament to the work Rakhma does.

Together, our guests, donors, sponsors, storytellers, families, and friends helped us raise more than $10,000, passing last year’s total.

Every ticket sold, silent auction bid, and donation helps Rakhma continue providing high quality, financially accessible memory care in real homes.

A huge thank you to our Rakhma storytellers - Rachel, Jeannette, Kevin, and Heidi - our featured performers Dan Chouinard, Jonathan Goldstein of Heavyweight podcast, Kevin Kling, and everyone who showed up and made the evening what it was.
