When flowers get transplanted...

Jan recently brought Black Eyed Susans and planted them for us all to enjoy together. But transplanting can be a stressful process.

There is the labor involved, the planning, the consideration around timing, season, and location. And even still, when all the work is done, there is the wondering and waiting as roots settle.

This Flower-in-the-making was wilted, and we have experienced hail, wind, and humidity. But with Jan's faith in transplanting and a team that has our eyes and caring hands on this plant before and after classes, it is making itself at home.

To transition is to trust. To tend daily. To ask for help.

And while those roots stretch, it is a gift to watch growth and beauty bloom before our eyes.

Thank you Jan for this gift that is bringing us together.

A special Kids Yoga class is happening THIS SUNDAY! Julia is leading this pop-up class at Yoga Sanctuary from 3-4. As your family transitions into Summer break, this can be a fun experience that invites awareness of breath, body, and connection to help your child feel connected to their 'inner light' and step into Summer activities with steadiness and joy.

There will be a yoga game, breathing practices, resting, mindfulness activities, and poses instilling confidence, connection and imagination.

"I often think about how valuable it would have been to have these practical tools of yoga as a kid. These classes are so great because they learn real-life skills disguised as play, so they are totally engaged and get to feel the benefits and learn about the powerful mind-body connection." -Julia (RCYS, E-RYT, Kids Yoga Teacher)

Summer is so full of fun, AND it's so valuable to find balance amidst the heat and energy so we don't get burnt out. This is a special invitation for you to join a specially curated workshop in partnership with Little House Acupuncture where you will experience some Chinese Medicine wisdom alongside yoga and acupuncture.

In Chinese Medicine, summer is the season of Fire - governed by the Heart and associated with joy. It's a time of peak energy and the highest highs.

As yang reaches its fullness, internal heat can build, leading to restless sleep, excessive sweating, and a racing mind - all signs the spirit needs balance.

This class is an invitation to slow down, and cool down. Expect a slow flow with gentle twists, leading to a long savasana. While you are resting with the support of props at the end of class, Nicole and Shelby will offer an acupuncture treatment that supports the Heart, brings a sense of calm, and releases excess heat.

We are seeking inspired Yoga Practicioners that are looking to deepen their practice for 9 months starting Sept for our 230-hour Holistic Yoga Teacher Training!

WE ARE OFFERING A LIMITED NUMBER OF OUTREACH SCHOLARSHIPS to those excited to share yoga with under-resourced or marginalized communities, and feel very passionate about studying and teaching yoga.

These equity-based scholarships are to support partial tuition for people facing financial hardship that belong to underrepresented identities in yoga spaces. People experiencing systemic racism as black, brown, indigenous (BIPOC) or Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) are encouraged to apply, as well as people of differing abilities, q***r folks, and people who have been historically marginalized.

In addition to financial support, this scholarship is grounded in a vision to create equitable access to yoga training for all people who will then extend yoga into their own communities through a "Train the Trainer" model of support and mentorship.

Past scholarship recipients have gone on to teach at local community centers like Sabathani, within the public schools, have become yoga mentors, business owners, and work in non-profit organizational settings.

This is COMMUNITY HEALING work. If you would like to extend this powerful gift to your community, we would love to hear from you.

APPLICATIONS DUE JUNE 15TH!

The Great Big Jamboree is launching its very first year - and we are so honored to join and offer some Family Friendly Yoga and Mindfulness Activities!

Created in collaboration with the The Okee Dokee Brothers, this new family music and arts festival brings live music, creativity, and outdoor fun together at Hyland Hills Ski Area in Bloomington on May 23rd!

The lineup features The Okee Dokee Brothers, Koo Koo, Sonia De Los Santos, Chastity Brown, and jeremy messersmith. Designed for kids and grown-ups alike, it’s a full day of music, creativity, and connection in a beautiful outdoor setting.

How a simple, devoted Hummingbird restored my HOPE

"I visited my parents in Lake Havasu, Arizona this past February. There is a small, volunteer-built cactus garden in the state park near their home. Growing up in Minnesota with lush black dirt and so much rain, I’m always amazed at what can grow and bloom just in rocks with barely any water!

On the first day of my trip I was sitting on a bench in the garden for a long time, and I noticed a hummingbird buzzing to and from a tree. Hummingbirds are actually quite common in Arizona, so this was delightful but not a surprise. But there was such a consistent pathway back to the tree that I finally looked hard enough to see that she had a tiny nest there, and she would sit for several minutes in the nest.

I’m assuming there were eggs (or babies!) in there but I didn’t want to frighten her so I never got close enough to look inside the thumb-sized nest. But I did walk to the garden each day to visit Mama Hummingbird, and sometimes the entire time I was there she was just sitting in her nest.

Somehow her simple devotion restored some hope for me — that we can take care of each other, that we are meant to rest in our nest as well as work hard outside it, that love and hope are possible even in the desert times where nourishment seems scarce." @ Trainer & Yoga Instructor

A growing body of scientific research shows vibrational healing delivers mental, emotional and physical health benefits that include:
• Increased relaxation
• More restful sleep
• Greater sense of calm
• Improved overall resilience
• Decreased anxiety and depression

Please join us in this supportive community setting to experience the healing potential of therapeutic instruments such as crystal singing bowls, Wu Xing Gong and the human voice. We’ll begin with gentle movement and collective breathing before transitioning fully to rest in the healing frequencies.

As Spring gives way to the rising heat of Summer, this workshop invites us to pause and sort. Rooted in Five Element Theory, we will work with the Small Intestine and its role in physical, mental, emotional and energetic discernment. Through qigong, sound, and intention, we will explore how to clarify and refine this year’s intensified fire energy, so that what continues forward happens through the lens of a discerning heart.
