This space reflects our commitment to bringing some of the most advanced technologies, treatments, and a more connected patient experience, to the communities we serve. It will transform the way care is delivered by making advanced specialty care more accessible here at home.

We’re grateful to our construction partner, Mortenson, who closely worked alongside our care teams to ensure this space not only works for our patients, but for those who care for them.

Welcome to the 27,000 square foot rooftop garden at the Schulze Building. With walking paths, seating areas and seasonal greenery, this space offers patients, families and care teams a calming space to rest and recharge.

From advanced operating rooms to reimagined care environments and healing outdoor spaces, this new space will transform the way care is delivered at Allina Health. We can’t wait to open our doors in late August and enter this next chapter of care.

When the Richard M. Schulze Surgical and Critical Care Center opens in late August, it will have 94 advanced ICU rooms. With specialized neuroscience, medical and cardiovascular units, these spaces are thoughtfully designed to support every step of the patient journey and deliver the highest level of care when it matters most.

Critical Care Intensivist Joshua Huelster, MD, and Patient Care Director BriAnn Foss are looking forward to welcoming patients into this next chapter of care as we continue building for what’s next.

Step inside one of the most advanced operating rooms at the Richard M. Schulze Surgical and Critical Care Center.

Our new intraoperative MRI suite brings advanced imaging technology directly into the operating room, giving our neuroscience surgeons access to real-time imaging during complex surgeries.

By eliminating the need to move patients and reducing interruptions during surgery, we can provide the best possible care to our patients.
