For over 7 years we’ve had the ultimate joy of working alongside Alicia weekly. She’s one of the most wise, thoughtful, and loyal humans we know. And although it’s not easy to say good-bye to our dear friend as a regular teacher, we are thrilled she gets to tend to herself. To practice what we all say regularly, which is the importance of rest, listening to your body, and allowing change to happen with grace. So Alicia, know that you will always be welcome back at Yess as a friend, teacher, student, and leader. We adore and love you.

Sonic Reiki w/ luci smith *aka mmluci*
Saturday, October 3rd | 6-8 pm | Sliding Scale: donation suggestion $10-$40
Reiki is traditionally directed through touch, with practitioners placing hands in alignment with the 7 chakras to channel unversal life force energy to the person receiving it. For this workshop, DJ, producer, sound collage artist and reiki practitioner luci smith *aka mmluci* will expand on this practice and channel reiki through sound, utilizing a hybrid setup of machine instruments and layered tracks to immerse attendees in richly textural ambient atmospheres that align with each chakra.

Imagine the immersive, sound-centered quality of a deep listening session and the tranquility of a sound bath combined with the spiritual, emotional and physical benefits of reiki as it is channeled and sent with the physical sound waves.

Attendees can expect to lay on a mat with props and blankets for comfort and experience a 75 minute session, pushed through a full spectrum 4-point sound system, that will move deliberately through articulately sculpted sonic atmospheres aligned with each of the 7 chakras.

This practice will promote deep relaxation, spiritual and emotional attunement, and push the boundaries of what a group reiki experience can feel like. This will be an immensely unique and powerfully healing communal experience that is not to be missed.

Join us for this afternoon for Immersive Embodiment: A holistic sensory journey w/ Ray and Vani. This workshop will bring together light, sound, yoga, acupuncture, and storytelling for a two-hour experience to leave guests feeling liberated and restored in body and spirit. Ray will guide a nourishing Yin Yoga practice while DJ Vani’s low-fi soundtrack will be complimented with music-responsive lighting, washing the studio in color. With guests in deep yoga holds, Vani will bring in a storytelling element, reading excerpts of Life Chant by Diane Di Pima. To conclude the experience, Vani will guide Yoga Nidra and participants will have the option to receive acupuncture from Ray.
