The Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Minnesota is a large subspecialty oriented neurosurgical practice that provides the highest quality of neurosurgical care for the most complex of neurosurgical diseases. The department primarily serves patients in the greater Twin Cities area, the State of Minnesota, and surrounding region. The neurosurgeons within the department have come from a

round the country to provide expertise in their respective subspecialties. Fellowship trained and active nationally and internationally in research and organized neurosurgery, many are regarded as leaders in their field. The neurosurgical training program in the department is one of the oldest in the country and for years has trained neurosurgeons highly regarded for their surgical skills. Over the years, many of the program's graduates have gone on to become leaders within neurosurgery.
