Retiring from Practice

It is with mixed emotions that I write this post.

In 1979 I read the word acupuncture in a Tai Chi book. Swoosh, from the universe, a mysterious force grabbed my wrist, leading to a study and practice of Acupuncture / Chinese Medicine. Only understood later, I started on a what became my life's journey. Now, the universal thread of truth that dragged me over the rocky ground of questing for knowledge, discovery and ultimately passion for my life's work and personal exploration is guiding me to new horizons or perhaps re-exploring old.

With that said, on January 31st 2020, with my lease at the Medical Arts building is ending, I will cease practicing and begin my adventures into retirement. I will turn 75 this year and I'd like to have my remaining time on this planet to step back for reflection and re-examination of my life and make preparation for the next.

I thank everyone, first of all, those of you reading this, and secondly, those who over the past 40 years have provided encouragement, inspiration, education and thought, and support, both financial and emotional, that kept me going through the difficult and the smooth times that have made up my life's career.

I thank every patient who came to me for help. Some I was unable to give what you needed or wanted. Some, we were stunned and amazed at the healing you received. Beyond that seeming contradiction, was sensing the unexplainable connection that defines our humanness and the even greater gifts of compassion, kindness, generosity and love that required humility when their mysterious manifestations came forth.

But, more importantly, while I may have treated a thousand neck problems, it will be each of you, in your own personal unique and interesting human being way that I will miss the most. That has been the greatest reward of my work.

I will miss all of you and my work dearly, but it is time for me to start letting go of the past and prepare for the time to come.

Peace to you all. Michael
