Medicare Open Enrollment is coming up soon! Minneola Pharmacy partners with a company called Amplicare to help us find Medicare Part D plans that work for you! Normally, we do not opt to have them contact our customers, but occasionally, messages slip through the cracks! We just want to assure you that this company is legitimate, we just opt out of their direct communications to avoid any confusion.

They will begin their consent outreach on September 9 for eligible patients who haven’t already provided consent. The consent calls will come from our pharmacy phone number, so patients will see our pharmacy on the caller ID. Again, this company is legitimate and it will not affect our ability to work with you if you choose to ignore them!!!

The text messages will come from 817-242-5261 and will direct patients to NavigateMyCare, the patient portal associated with our pharmacy. There you can review your Medicare plan options with you drug list automatically uploaded. Patients who haven’t provided consent won’t receive these messages.

Thursday, August 13th, the city of Minneola will be resurfacing main street. Our block, the 100 block, is expected to be closed until after lunch. There is parking on Oak Street, south of the grocery store, or give us a call and we can make arrangements to get it out to you!

What a morning we had here in Minneola America! Many of you know that lightening struck a substation outside of town and Minneola was without electricity for several hours. We have a generator here at the pharmacy, but the battery was dead so it didn't kick on. It was a little odd coming into work in the dark and literally not being able to do anything! It defninitely made us understand how dependent we are on electricity!

Despite the craziness of the morning, I want to take a minute to just say how grateful I am to live out here in what many people would consider the middle of nowhere. I know that we aren't near many of the "modern conveniences", but we are very blessed. As soon as Courtney arrived to find no electricity, she reached out to Tyler Knox, who immediately came over, took out the old battery in our generator, ran to the COOP (and bless you Amber and COOP guys for having what we needed) and picked us up a new one and replaced it for us. He had us up and running in about 30 minutes. We realized very shortly that our air conditioner was also not running, so less than 10 minutes after a 'slightly' panicked text to Jeremy Foster with Foster Frigeration, hoping he would at least have time in the next couple of days, we hear a knock at the back door and Jeremy miraculously appeared!!!! He had already been on his way over to check on some other units in town. While the power was out, a couple of our battery back ups died and Courtney, armed with her lightning fast phone skills and Walmart Plus, had us another one ordered and delivered within the hour.

I say all that in a very long post to say that I am so grateful that we are in a community where we have friends and neighbors willing to drop what they are doing to help us out and keep us up and running! So glad to live out here in the "boonies" with you all!!!!

After the power outage this morning, Our generator did not kick on. We are in the process of getting a new battery in it. Please give us 45 minutes to an hour to get back up and running!!!!
