Gianna Homes Memory Care and HomeCare. Where experience meets compassion, and home truly feels like home. What would this place be like? Welcome Home!

For over 25 years, Gianna Homes has been a trusted provider of compassionate, specialized care for individuals in Minnetonka, Plymouth, and the West Metro. Gianna Homes provides care for individuals living with memory loss such as Alzheimer's Disease, Lewy Body Dementia, FTD or other dementias. Are you interested in a place where individuals challenged with memory loss can continue living, can continue doing, can continue loving? Would it include a professional staff trained to provide dementia specific care? Would this staff seek to provide positive solutions that anticipate the unique needs of your loved one? Would the staff have the time and the patience your loved one needs? Would the staff provide a progression of care through all of the remaining stages of life? Would this place be a home with familiar surroundings? Would it be a safe haven with security systems and handicap accessibility? Would there be a feeling of calm and peace that envelops its residents with love and harmony? Would it be a home where catnaps in the warm sunshine are a staple and sleeping in from time to time is considered a must? Would it have someone there who truly wants to take the time to dignify the needs of the residents, to dry their tears, laugh at their jokes, revel in each and every story, and respect them for who they are? At Gianna Homes we don't know how it could be any other way. If you answered yes to any of these needs, we invite you to take a closer look at our home. Our Mission

Providing memory care with a loving kindness that respects the dignity of each resident. Gianna Homes provides exceptional senior memory care in a residential home. We demonstrate a unique understanding of memory loss and the challenges it creates for our residents and their families. We are dedicated to preserving the dignity of an individual while providing for his or her medical, social and spiritual needs. Our care is given in a home designed to honor God, nurture family, and foster friendship. Our Vision

We have made a home that provides a familiar and secure environment where individuals challenged with memory loss can live and thrive. We provide resident accommodations
so that our residents feel that they are truly in a home and receiving personal care. Our professional staff members are trained to provide Dementia specific care. They will provide positive solutions that anticipate the unique needs of loved ones entrusted to our care by their families. Our gifted staff creates a place that is calm and peaceful, enveloping your family member with love and harmony. We allow for a flexible daily routine by honoring individual requests and preferences. Our high staff to resident ratio allows us the TIME to dignify the needs of our residents so that we can dry their tears, laugh at their jokes, and revel in each and every story they share. We strive to know the person behind the disease. By partnering with the family we are able to adapt and comply with the psycho-social needs of our residents. Because of the decrease in cognitive abilities associated with dementia-particularly with Alzheimer's, Lewy Body, Parkinsons and Frontal Lobe - we must do our best to preserve the whole person, and support a lifestyle that is meaningful and wholesome. At Gianna Homes our focus is on more than health care. We are concerned with LIFE CARE.

It’s a great day of learning and connecting at the Fall Aging Conference at Earl Brown Heritage Center.

This year’s theme, “Aging in the Gray: Choice, Risk and Ethics in Modern Senior Care,” is sparking important conversations about the complexities of caring for older adults.

At Gianna Homes, we value opportunities to learn from and build relationships with fellow professionals who share our commitment to compassionate, person-centered care.

Grateful for the insights, conversations, and new connections happening today!

💚 Why does my loved one keep asking the same question over and over? 💚

In dementia care, this kind of repetition is sometimes called perseveration. Someone may ask, “When are we leaving?” every few minutes, even though you’ve already answered several times.

We know this can be frustrating, but we encourage people to remember that the repeated question may be less about needing an answer and more about expressing a feeling.

Instead of answering the question again and again, try asking yourself what might this person need right now? Maybe they need reassurance, a change of activity, a snack, a familiar routine, or simply time sitting together.

If you're the caregiver, give yourself some grace, too. You’re doing important work, you don't have to be perfect, and you don’t have to do all of it alone.

Are you looking for care assistance in the Twin Cities? Gianna Homes provides residential memory care and in-home services. We’d be glad to learn more about your loved one and help you understand what support may be helpful.

There's encouraging work happening right here in Minnesota to help families, caregivers, and communities better understand Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia.

Yesterday, we attended two presentations by Dr. Joseph Gaugler of the University of Minnesota, part of his 87-county tour, Alzheimer's Disease: What It Is and What Can Be Done.

Held at Mount Olivet Church and the Plymouth Community Center, these sessions were informative and filled with thoughtful questions from attendees. We appreciate Dr. Gaugler's commitment to bringing dementia education directly into Minnesota communities!

Two great opportunities to learn more:

There's a little extra excitement at our Minnetonka home today! 🏡

Our team is welcoming a new resident and family, and our RN, Lenora, is among the friendly faces greeting them at the door.

While we're excited for this new beginning, we know that moving a loved one into memory care can bring a mix of emotions. There may be relief, worry, sadness, hope, sometimes all in the same day.

That's why the little things matter so much:
💚A warm welcome
💚 Time to ask questions
💚 Caregivers who understand that settling into a new home happens one day, one conversation, and one relationship at a time.

To our newest family, we're so glad you're here. Welcome home! 🏡

If you're exploring residential memory care for someone you love in the Twin Cities, we'd welcome the opportunity to get to know your family, too. Start with a conversation, then come see what makes our small, residential memory care homes in Minnetonka and Plymouth feel different.

When you’re exploring home care options, there are two questions I’d encourage you to ask, and they may not be the first ones that come to mind.

Of course, you’ll want to ask about things like services, availability, and cost. But I also think it’s important to understand the kind of care your loved one will actually experience.

Here are two questions I really like:

💚 “What do you look for in a caregiver besides experience?”
For me, this tells you so much. Skills and experience matter, but so do patience, warmth, and the ability to genuinely connect with someone.

💚 “Can you tell me about a time a caregiver went above and beyond for someone in their care?”
I love this question because the answer often reveals what a home care provider notices, values, and celebrates.

If you’re exploring home care, I’d welcome the opportunity to learn about your loved one and answer these questions and more.

Yesterday, October 4th, was the birthday of the woman who inspired the name Gianna Homes: Saint Gianna Beretta Molla.

She was a physician, wife, and mother whose life reflected compassion, dignity, and a deep commitment to caring for others.

Those same values continue to shape how we approach residential memory care and in-home care in the western Twin Cities today. We’re focused on knowing each person well, keeping families closely involved, and bringing purpose to the everyday moments of care.

In honor of Saint Gianna’s birthday, we’re sharing the story behind our name and why her example still matters to us today. Read the story: https://giannahomes.org/blog/the-story-behind-our-name-how-saint-gianna-inspires-the-care-we-provide/

If your family is exploring memory care in Minnetonka or Plymouth, or in-home senior care in the western Twin Cities, we’d be glad to start with a conversation.

Suzanne has been out visiting hospitals, transitional care units, senior living communities, and other professional partners throughout the Twin Cities.

Each stop delivers a little warmth — some pumpkin spice cocoa and a reminder that “Care feels warmer when you’re truly known at Gianna Homes”. 🍁☕️💚

If there’s an organization or professional you think we should know, let us know. We’d be happy to bring them our fall packet and have a warm conversation about Gianna Homes.

Faith has a beautiful way of bringing comfort and connection, especially through traditions that have been part of a person’s life for many years.

At our Minnetonka home, we’re grateful for faith volunteers like Robyn, who regularly spends her lunch break with our residents. Those who choose to participate gather in our beautiful chapel to pray, receive Holy Communion, and sing familiar hymns.

Robyn, thank you for sharing your faith, your time, and your heart with our residents. Your presence is such a blessing to our Gianna Homes family. 🙏💚
