We had a beautiful day for our walk on Saturday, and we even found a walking stick! We also tired out one of our furry walkers, but another walker was willing to share his stroller for a bit.

After several days of crazy weather, I'm glad for what looks to be beautiful weather for our walk this morning. Join us today, June 13th, at 10 AM for our talk about Skin Health and then a walk around Lake Chaminwood, if you can! Bring some water, because it is expected to be sunny! (Which is why it is the perfect day for me to try making sun tea for the first time!)

It is always exciting when there is innovation in women’s healthcare. So much so that despite the weather, I still made it to Chicago to learn about the Nella Spec (but I opted to use public transit, because my wee little car is not made for potentially flooded roads).

This also works for completing paperwork you don't want to do. At least I'll get some healthy vegetables out of it!

I was looking back at some facebook memories this week, and came across this effort at recreating works of art, that a few of us were doing during lockdown to keep ourselves from going crazy. I have since been able to travel and see several versions of this iconic painting. But, I thought it was a fun picture, so I decided to share. (A wig cap and dark green lipstick are clearly not my best look, by the way).

Last week, my mom and I got to go to a class hosted by The Flower Faery, where we made porch pots, and today, my tulips have started blooming nicely! While her upcoming class this week is sold out, she hosts them quarterly, if you ever want to try it for yourself, and of course, The Flower Faery also offers lots of landscaping services throughout the year, if that is what you need!

We had a lovely Walk with a Doc on Saturday (which had a Springtime in Paris theme, hence the berets), and I think everyone looked really sharp! One of our regular walkers, Sarah Hughes (a local business owner and Farmers Insurance agent) was sad she missed it, so I dropped a beret by to her office and reviewed my current office liability insurance to find that if I switch to Farmers, she can save me about $1600 a year! I love businesses that are truly focused on the needs of the people they serve.

Join us next month on May 9th for our next Walk with a Doc, when we will be discussing the importance of getting whole foods/plant-based foods in your diet. And, if you are looking for someone to review your insurance policies, check out Sarah Hughes with Farmers Insurance.

Join us for our April Walk with a Doc on 04/11/26 at 10 AM at Lake Chaminwood! We will be discussing Music and Health, before going for a nice stroll around the lake. Because of the time of year and the topic, we're doing a Springtime in Paris theme, and attendees will get a free beret (while supplies last), and we will have French music to listen to.

Oh, I love it when people say sensible things about fixing our broken healthcare system! I especially love the support for DPC as part of point number three.
