We’ve been celebrating our amazing medical assistants all week, but today is officially their day!

Of course, we couldn’t let the occasion pass without a little celebration of our own! 🎂🎁 We treated our MAs to cake and some cozy blankets as a small token of appreciation for everything they do.

Our medical assistants are an essential part of the CGO team, helping our physicians, supporting our patients, and bringing compassion, dedication, and teamwork to our offices every day.

To all of our wonderful MAs, thank you for your hard work, your caring hearts, and the difference you make in the lives of our patients. We appreciate you more than you know!

💜 October is World Menopause Month, and we’re sharing an important reminder that every woman should know.

Menopause brings many changes to a woman’s body, but not every change should be considered a normal part of aging.

In this video, Dr. Jacob Tangir, gynecologic oncologist at The Center for Gynecologic Oncology, shares what he finds most rewarding about caring for women facing serious health challenges. He also offers an important message about a symptom that should never be ignored: bleeding after menopause.

While postmenopausal bleeding does not necessarily mean cancer, it is not considered normal and should always be evaluated by a healthcare provider. 🩺

October is World Menopause Month! 💜

Menopause is a natural stage of life, but that doesn't mean women should have to struggle through uncomfortable symptoms or feel that their concerns are being dismissed.

From hot flashes and sleep disturbances to mood changes, vaginal dryness, and changes in sexual health, menopause can affect women in many different ways.

At The Center for Gynecologic Oncology, we believe women deserve to feel heard, informed, and supported through every stage of life. 🩺

World Menopause Month is an opportunity to encourage open conversations, raise awareness about available treatment options, and remind women that just because something is common doesn't mean you have to suffer in silence.

Every woman's experience is different, and personalized care can make a difference.

Gynecologic Cancer Awareness Month may have ended, but we couldn’t let September pass without celebrating the incredible people at the heart of our community. 💜

Last week, we gathered for A Luncheon of Hope, Friendship & Support, bringing together our patients, Survivors and Thrivers for an afternoon filled with good food, laughter, friendship, and connection.

Awareness is about more than sharing information. It’s also about supporting one another, celebrating strength and resilience, and reminding every person facing a gynecologic cancer that they are surrounded by a community that cares. 💙

We loved seeing everyone dressed in teal and purple, reconnecting with familiar faces, making new friends, and simply enjoying time together.

Together, we are stronger. Together, no one fights alone. 💜

Awareness matters. Early detection matters.

Just as with many of the cancers we treat, recognizing changes in your body and knowing when to seek medical attention can make an important difference.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month is a reminder to know your personal risk factors and family history, stay up to date with recommended screenings, and never ignore a change or symptom that concerns you. 🩺

This month, we stand with those facing breast cancer, celebrate survivors and thrivers, remember those we have lost, and encourage every woman to make her health a priority. 💗

As Gynecologic Cancer Awareness Month comes to a close, the conversation cannot. 💬

Throughout September, we’ve talked about symptoms, prevention, treatment advances, ovarian cancer awareness, and the importance of listening to your body.
But awareness matters every month of the year. 📅

Know what is normal for your body. Pay attention when something changes. Know your family history. Keep up with your gynecologic care. And most importantly, never be afraid to speak up when something doesn’t feel right. 🩺

To every woman currently facing a gynecologic cancer diagnosis, to those in treatment, and to our incredible Survivors and Thrivers, your strength inspires us every day.

And to the families, friends, caregivers, nurses, physicians, and healthcare teams walking beside them, your support matters more than words can say.

September may be ending, but our commitment to awareness, education, compassionate care, and hope continues every single day. 💙

💙 When it comes to ovarian cancer, information is power.

During Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month, our chemotherapy nurse Trini has an important reminder: pay attention to your body and don’t ignore changes that don’t feel normal for you.

Some symptoms associated with ovarian cancer can be subtle or easily attributed to other conditions. Knowing what to look for and talking to your healthcare provider when something feels different can help you take an active role in your health. 🩺

▶️ Watch as Trini shares symptoms to be aware of, what steps you can take if you’re concerned, and why she encourages women not to wait to get checked.
