👁️ If you had LASIK years ago, you probably threw the glasses in a drawer and forgot about your eyes. Now the reading glasses are creeping back, and it feels like the surgery wore off.

It did not. LASIK reshaped the cornea, the clear window on the front of your eye. The focusing lens inside, the part that naturally stiffens with age, is what changed, and LASIK never touched it. 👁️ The part I weigh most heavily as a surgeon with the Light Adjustable Lens.

The adjustment you lock in is permanent. But your prescription is not. It shifts day to day, mostly with dry eye, which is common after surgery. So you are making a permanent adjustment on a moving target, and then you freeze it in place.
