✨ Breech? Let’s talk about your options.

When a baby is in a breech presentation, many families wonder, “Is there anything I can do before considering more invasive options?”

The answer is often yes! The ideal time for a babe to be head down is between 29-31 weeks. If babies are not head down by that time, early intervention can help give babe more space to allow for them to find their way down.

We believe the best care happens when providers work together. That’s why we love collaborating with perinatal acupuncturists and other birth professionals to support optimal fetal positioning.

Perinatal acupuncture, often combined with moxibustion, may help encourage babies to turn head-down while also supporting relaxation and reducing tension.

Pregnancy chiropractic care focuses on improving pelvic balance, mobility, and nervous system function, helping create more space for baby to find an optimal position.

Spinning Babies is an Evidence-informed positioning techniques, exercises and movement strategies that help to encourage optimal fetal positioning by balancing your body and relieving tension.

Together, these therapies work hand in hand to:
🤍 Support pelvic balance
🤍 Reduce tension throughout the body
🤍 Encourage optimal fetal positioning
🤍 Help you feel more comfortable as your body prepares for birth

No one treatment can guarantee a baby will turn, but a collaborative approach gives families supportive, non-invasive options while working alongside your OB or midwife.

It truly takes a village, and we’re honored to be part of yours.

🤱 What does a Lactation Consultant do—and why might you see one?

Breastfeeding is natural, but that doesn’t always mean it’s easy.

A Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) is specially trained to help families navigate everything from painful latch and ni**le pain to low milk supply, oversupply, tongue/lip tie concerns, pumping, bottle feeding, and returning to work. Their goal is to help you meet your feeding goals with evidence-based support.

✨ Before baby arrives, an IBCLC can help you:
• Create a personalized breastfeeding plan
• Learn what to expect in the first few days after birth
• Address concerns about previous breastfeeding experiences
• Prepare if you’re expecting multiples, have a high-risk pregnancy, or anticipate feeding challenges
• Feel confident before your little one makes their debut

👶 After birth, it’s beneficial to meet with an IBCLC as early as possible, even if everything seems to be going well. Early support can help establish a strong feeding foundation and identify small concerns before they become bigger challenges.

An IBCLC can help with:
✔️ Latch difficulties
✔️ Ni**le pain
✔️ Milk supply concerns
✔️ Tongue and lip tie support
✔️ Pumping and bottle feeding
✔️ Weight gain concerns
✔️ Returning to work while breastfeeding
✔️ Meeting your family’s unique feeding goals

Together, chiropractic care and lactation support make an incredible team.

By working collaboratively, we can:
✔️ Support better positioning and latch
✔️ Address body tension that may impact feeding
✔️ Improve comfort for both mom and baby
✔️ Encourage more efficient feeding
✔️ Provide comprehensive, family-centered care

Breastfeeding is a learned skill for both mom and baby and you don’t have to navigate it alone. Having an IBCLC and a pediatric chiropractor on your care team provides the support, education, and encouragement you deserve from pregnancy through the postpartum journey.

It truly takes a village, and we’re honored to be part of yours.

What Is a Doula?

A doula is a trained professional who provides non-medical physical, emotional, and educational support during pregnancy, birth, and/or the postpartum period. Their role is to help families feel informed, supported, and confident throughout the journey.

Think of a doula as a dedicated support person whose focus is on you and your family.

Different Types of Doulas:

Birth Doula
• Supports families during pregnancy, labor, and birth
• Helps with comfort measures, positioning, breathing techniques, and labor coping strategies
• Provides emotional support and helps families understand their options

Postpartum Doula
• Supports families after baby arrives
• Assists with newborn care, feeding support, recovery, sleep strategies, and household transitions
• Helps parents adjust to life with a new baby

Why Would You Choose to Have a Doula?
Families choose doulas for many different reasons, but some of the most common benefits include:

✨ Continuous emotional support throughout pregnancy and labor

✨ Guidance and education to help you make informed decisions

✨ Physical comfort measures during labor such as movement, massage, positioning, and relaxation techniques

✨ Support for partners, helping them feel more confident and involved

✨ An additional layer of encouragement and reassurance during the transition to parenthood

Many families appreciate having someone whose sole focus is supporting their experience and helping them feel heard throughout the process.

The Takeaway
A doula is not a replacement for your medical provider—they are an important member of your birth team who provides continuous support throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. When combined with providers such as chiropractors, midwives, OB-GYNs, pelvic floor physical therapists, lactation consultants, and acupuncturists, doulas help create a well-rounded support system that nurtures the whole family.

Have you worked with a doula before? What part of doula support would have been most valuable during your pregnancy or birth experience?

Pelvic floor physical therapy focuses on the muscles, connective tissue, and coordination of your pelvic floor — which plays a huge role in pregnancy, postpartum recovery, core function, bladder control, movement, and more.

The goal isn’t simply to “fix” symptoms — it’s to improve how the body functions together.

Many people think pelvic floor PT is only postpartum, but there are many reasons someone might benefit. You might benefit from pelvic floor PT if you’re experiencing:
✨ Pelvic pain
✨ Low back or hip pain
✨ Leaking or pressure symptoms
✨ Pain with movement or exercise
✨ Pregnancy discomforts
✨ Postpartum recovery challenges
✨ Preparing your body for birth

And here’s where collaboration matters! Pelvic floor PT and chiropractic care often work beautifully together.

🤍 Chiropractic can help improve mobility, alignment, movement patterns, and nervous system function.

🤍 Pelvic floor PT can help with muscle coordination, core function, breathing mechanics, and rehabilitation.

Together, they create a more comprehensive approach to helping your body move, feel, and function better throughout pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond.

Your care team doesn’t have to be one provider, sometimes the best support comes from building the right team 🤍

Knowing your options for birth care matters 🤍

Many families don’t realize there are different types of providers who can support you during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum — and finding the right fit can make a huge difference in how supported you feel throughout the journey.

The two most common birth providers are OB/GYNs and Midwives ✨

🤍 OB/GYN Care
OBs are medical doctors trained in pregnancy, birth, surgery, and managing complications. Care is usually hospital-based and can be a great fit for both low and high-risk pregnancies.
OB care may be a good fit if you:
• Feel more comfortable with closer medical monitoring
• Have a high-risk pregnancy or medical complications
• Want immediate access to specialists or surgical care if needed
• Want access to epidurals and hospital-based pain management

Some families love the reassurance and medical support an OB provides, while others may feel appointments can be shorter or more clinical depending on the practice.

🤍 Midwifery Care
Midwives specialize in supporting pregnancy, physiologic birth, postpartum recovery, and newborn care. Their care is often more education-focused, hands-on, and relationship-centered.
Midwifery care may be a good fit if you:
• Want longer appointments and more personalized support
• Desire a lower-intervention approach
• Want more education around pregnancy, labor, and postpartum
• Are interested in hospital (check your local hospital and OBGYN groups), birth center or home birth options

Many families love the holistic and supportive approach of midwifery care, though some high-risk pregnancies may require transfer or co-care with an OB.

✨ The important thing to remember:
There is no “right” choice for everyone. The best provider is the one that helps you feel safe, heard, respected, and supported in your decisions.

And many families choose a combination of support:
🤍 OB + doula
🤍 Hospital midwife
🤍 Home birth midwife
🤍 Chiropractic
🤍 Pelvic floor PT
🤍 Acupuncture
🤍 Lactation support
🤍 Mental health support
…and more.

Your birth team should work WITH you — not just around you 🤍
