In Loving Memory of José Ángel Cavazos
With profound sadness and deep love, we announce the passing of José Ángel Cavazos, who entered into eternal rest on July 21, 2026, in McAllen, Texas, at the age of 92.
José Ángel was born on June 18, 1934, in Mercedes, Texas, to Matias and Calixtra Cavazos. He was one of sixteen children, growing up in a large, close-knit family that instilled in him the values of faith, hard work, humility, and devotion to loved ones. Although he was born in Mercedes, Mission, Texas, was the place he proudly called home throughout his life, where he built a life centered on family.
Throughout his life, José Ángel was known for his unwavering work ethic, quiet strength, and steadfast commitment to his family. As a dedicated maintenance technician at H&H, he spent many years working with skill, integrity, and pride, always providing for those he loved and lending a helping hand whenever it was needed.
Outside of work, José Ángel found his greatest happiness in the simple pleasures of life. He had a lifelong passion for baseball and enjoyed spending countless hours hunting and fishing, finding peace in the outdoors and creating treasured memories with family and friends.
Above all, José Ángel Cavazos cherished his family. He was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather and caring brother. His greatest joy came from being surrounded by his loved ones, sharing stories, laughter, and the values he hoped would be passed...
