Mission Veterinary Hospital was established in 1988 and we have continued to raise the bar in quality veterinary care. Pet Owners: Protect Your Pets from Screwworm 🪰

With growing concern surrounding screwworm myiasis, it is important for pet owners to understand that there are currently no FDA-approved products specifically for treatment.

Medications being used for screwworm myiasis treatment are either conditionally approved or being used under emergency authorization.

At this time, Bravecto is not listed under the emergency authorization list. Bravecto is an isoxazoline-class medication, and any questions about its use should be directed to your veterinarian.

Conditional Approval:
Credelio Quattro

Emergency Use Authorization:
Credelio for cats and dogs, NexGard, NexGard Combo for cats, and Nitenpyram

Because treatment recommendations may involve extra-label use, we are required to counsel clients on what that means. Please contact your veterinarian directly with any specific product or treatment questions.
