➡️ Questions about hospice and palliative care shouldn’t have to wait until a crisis.

Stillwater Hospice’s Community Relations Representatives do a whole lot more than talk about hospice and palliative care. They’re out in the communities we serve—connecting with healthcare professionals, answering questions for patients and families, sharing information and resources about both types of care, participating in local events, supporting community organizations and building relationships with the people and partners who make our communities stronger.

A hospice plan of care isn’t created once and forgotten.

The interdisciplinary team meets regularly to discuss:

• Pain and symptom changes
• Medication effectiveness
• Emotional and spiritual needs
• Personal goals and care preferences
• Equipment or supply needs
• Caregiver concerns and support
• Changes in the patient’s condition

This ongoing collaboration keeps care personalized, responsive, and aligned with what matters most to each patient and family.

Hospice care is never the work of just one person.

Nurses, physicians, CNAs, social workers, spiritual counselors, volunteers and bereavement professionals work together to support each patient and family physically, emotionally and spiritually.

Every role matters. Every voice helps shape the plan of care.

🌟 Our August My Why story comes from Kristy Naylor, Director of Clinical Services at our Kalispell agency.

Her hospice journey began while working at an assisted living facility on Maui, where partnering with hospice nurses reminded her why she became a nurse in the first place. What she thought would lead her to a master’s degree instead led her to her calling.

Today, she carries the lessons and stories of hundreds of patients and families with her—along with a nursing legacy that began with her great-grandmother in Eastern Montana more than a century ago.

Thank you, Kristy, for leading with compassion, supporting your team, and helping our patients and families feel cared for and never alone.

August is National Wellness Month—a reminder that wellness looks different in every season of life.

In hospice, wellness can look like:

✅ Relief from pain and other symptoms

✅ Restful, peaceful moments at home

✅ Meaningful time with loved ones

✅ Emotional and spiritual support

✅ Feeling heard, respected and cared for

✅ Support for family caregivers

It isn’t about doing more. It’s about protecting what matters most.
