Your body already knows how to heal. Sometimes it just needs a wake-up call.
If you've tried stretching, rest, ice, or other treatments and you're still hurting, Shockwave Therapy may be a great option and we now offer it in-office.
Shockwave Therapy uses acoustic (sound) waves to stimulate your body's natural healing response. It increases blood flow to injured tissue, helps break down scar tissue, and encourages your body to repair areas that have been slow to heal.
The research behind it is encouraging. A recent review of more than 1,100 patients found that people with chronic plantar fasciitis had significantly less pain and better function after shockwave therapy than those who received a placebo treatment. Another review of 935 patients found people receiving shockwave therapy were more than twice as likely to experience meaningful improvement.
Shockwave Therapy is commonly used for:
• Plantar fasciitis and heel pain
• Tennis or golfer's elbow
• Achilles tendon pain
• Jumper's knee
• Shoulder pain
• Chronic muscle tightness and trigger points
One of my favorite things about this treatment is that it works with your body. Instead of simply covering up pain, it's designed to stimulate the healing process in damaged tissue.
Treatments are quick, there's little to no downtime, and many people start noticing improvement after just a few visits.
If you've been living with pain and wondering what else is out there, I'd be happy to see if Shockwave Therapy is the right fit for you.
