Arnold Watts

Mr. Arnold Watts, a native of Clinton, Georgia and longtime resident of Mobile passed away Thursday, August 6, 2026 at the age of 99.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 72 years, Eloise Watts and his son, Kenneth Watts. He is survived by his daughter, Vicki (David) Edwards and grandchildren, McKenzie Edwards and Drake Watts.

He proudly served in the U.S. Army and is a War World II Veteran. Professionally he owned and operated Finance Companies in Mobile and was a very well-respected businessman in the community. Arnold was a loving husband and father, and he was passionate about any type of fishing. Most weekends you could find him out in the Gulf or at any Lake with a fishing rod in his hands. He enjoyed bowling and he and his lifelong buddies formed a team and spent many happy nights at the bowling alley. He was a Christian man and served as an Elder at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Mobile.

A graveside service will be held in Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery on Monday, August 17, 2026 at noon.

Rose Marie Harrison

Rose Marie Harrison, a lifelong resident of Mobile, Alabama, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2026, at the age of 89. Born on July 28, 1937, Rose was a woman of deep faith, enduring love, and quiet devotion to her family and community.

A longtime, dedicated member of Little Flower Catholic Church, Rose found great comfort and fellowship in her parish community. Outside of her faith, her greatest joy was spent outdoors in her yard. She loved spending time in her garden, meticulously tending to her beautiful roses, which mirrored the grace and care she brought to the lives of those around her.

Rose was married to her beloved husband, Bernard Harrison, for over 70 wonderful years, building a lifetime of shared memories and a beautiful family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her cherished husband, Bernard; and her siblings, Bernard Harrison, Stephen Harrison, Donald Harrison, and Lucille Harrison.

Her legacy of love lives on through her surviving family. She is survived by her devoted son and his wife, Ronald and Erlinda Harrison. She was the proud grandmother of Christina (Kevin) Harrison, and the loving great-grandmother of their son, KJ Harrison. She is also survived by her step-grandchildren, Marlon Battad and his wife, Day, along with their son, Angelo; and Amielyn Gantzer and her husband, Shawn, along with their son, Aiden.

Sarah Pauline Ezell

Sarah Pauline Smith Ezell, age 88, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home on August 9, 2026. She was born on March 15, 1938, in Noxapater, Mississippi, to Obie and Clemmie Smith. Mrs. Ezell was a faithful and devoted member of Calvary United Pentecostal Church for more than 52 years, where she cherished worship, fellowship, and service to her church family.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Aden Ezell, Jr.; her parents, Obie W. Smith and Clemmie R. Smith; and her siblings, Donald Smith, Kate Triplett, Mable Henderson, Nellie Haggard, and Joe W. Smith.

She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Cindy Ezell (Billy) Melton and Rhonda Ezell (Greg) Essary; her grandson, Bradley W. Essary; her granddaughters, Baleigh A. Essary and Sarah Madeline Melton; as well as many nieces, nephews, friends, and members of her church family.

Funeral services will be held at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Saturday, August 15, 2026. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM, followed by the service at 12:00 PM. Interment will take place at Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Patricia Eileen Baker

Patricia Eileen Lisenby Baker, age 84, of Daphne, Alabama, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2026, at Thomas Hospital. Born on July 12, 1942, in Pensacola, Florida, Patricia, affectionately known as "Ninnie" to her family, touched the lives of all who knew her with a caring and loving spirit who invested her love, time and energy into her family and friends with a personality bigger than life. Her lively personality and infectious laughter brought joy to her loved ones. In her spare time, she enjoyed watching and cheering on her favorite football team, the University of Alabama Crimson Tide.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Baker, and her son, Bryant Baker.

Pat leaves behind her beloved son, Garrett Baker, and his wife, Brandy; her cherished granddaughter, Phoenix, from Greenwood, Indiana; her brothers, James Lisenby of Dothan, Alabama, and Donald Gary Lisenby and his wife, Jackie, from Daphne, Alabama; other relative and friends.

In honor of Pat's life, a graveside service and interment will be held on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at 12:00 pm at Mobile Memorial Gardens. The service is open for friends to pay their respects and celebrate Pat's life with her family. Pallbearers for this heartfelt ceremony will include Randy Davis, Tim Davis, T.J. Davis, Robert Davis, Jr., Donnie Lisenby, and Porter Lisenby.

During this time of mourning, let us reflect on Patricia's favorite Bible verse, Hebrews 13:5: "I will never leave you, nor forsake you." This comfort reminds us of the enduring love she shared and the beautiful legacy she leaves behind. May we honor her memory as we gather to celebrate her life and the love she so generously gave.

Julette Driskell Smith

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Julette Driskell Smith, age 100, a beloved mother, "MeMaw", sister, and friend. She left this world peacefully on August 9, 2026, surrounded by her loving family at her residence in Theodore, Alabama. Born on July 2, 1926, in Wilmer, Alabama, she lived a rich and fulfilling life, dedicating herself to her family and the art of sewing as a talented seamstress, using her skills to design clothes without patterns, and fitting one perfectly by measurements. Julette graduated from Tanner Williams School in 1943 and was a devoted member of Cedar Grove Missionary Baptist Church since 1959. Her faith was strong, and she enjoyed fellowship with others as she worshiped the Lord Jesus Christ.

Her warmth, kindness, and unwavering spirit touched the lives of all who knew her, and her legacy will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

Julette was preceded in death by her parents, Dewitt and Iva Driskell; husband, Al Smith; daughter, Karen Parrillo; and eleven siblings.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving children, Bobby Richardson, Sandra Richardson Gregory (Dean) and Don Richardson (Kathi); two brothers, Everette Driskell (Bonita) and Basil Driskell; numerous grandchildren; great grandchildren; great-great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance and celebration of Julette's life in the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home where we will honor her remarkable journey and the impact she made on those around her. A public visitation will take place on August 14, 2026, from 1:00 PM until the 2:00 PM Funeral Service with Bro. T.J. Parker officiating. Following the service, Julette will be laid to rest in Mobile Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Randy Wilson, Dillon Thomas, Don Cronn, Jason Bunn, Darryl Vickery and Chance Richardson.

The family invites everyone who loved Julette to join them as they bid farewell to a truly extraordinary woman whose life each of us was privileged to share. In this time of sorrow and reflection, may we find comfort in the memories of Julette Driskell Smith, a woman whose love and laughter will forever resonate in our hearts.

Betty Jo Tillman Trippe Rockhold

Betty Jo Tillman Trippe Rockhold passed peacefully in her sleep, Friday, August 7th, 2026. She was 89. She is preceded in death by; her parents, Percy G. Tillman, and Mary Moody Tillman; her husband, Chester D. Rockhold; her son, Charles E. Trippe Jr.; her grandson David Tripper; and her granddaughter, Erienne Elmore.

She is survived by; her daughters, Belinda J. Porter, and Beverly J. Elmore, both of Irvington; 5 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren to cherish her memory.

We will think of her every time we watch a beautiful sunrise.

Betty Jo's funeral service will be held Thursday at 2 P.M. on August 13th, 2026, at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Her visitation will be held prior to the service from 12 P.M. to 2 P.M. on August 13th, 2026, at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.

Betty Thomas Elder

Betty Thomas Elder passed away peacefully at her home in Mobile, Alabama, on August 8, 2026

Betty will be remembered for the life she lived, the family she cherished, and the lasting memories she leaves behind. Her greatest joy was her children and grandchildren, whom she loved dearly and treasured every moment with. She also had a deep love for fishing, often taking every opportunity to be near the water. Whether the catch was plentiful or the day was simply quiet by the shore, those moments brought her great peace and happiness.

After retirement, Betty found joy in the simple routines of everyday life. One of her favorites was making her daily breakfast run to get a biscuit-a little tradition she looked forward to and rarely missed.

Betty is survived by her son, James Golden Jr., and his wife, Lauren and children, Landon, Cooper, and Ella Kate Golden, Step Grandchildren Stella and Brady Sullivan. She is also survived by her daughter, Rachelle Harris, and her children, Katie and Jacob Harris.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Janie Virginia Thomas and James Thomas; her brother, Larry Wayne Thomas; her sister, Bobbi Thomas; and her beloved grandson, Ryan Henderly.

Betty's memory will live on through her children, grandchildren, family, and all who were blessed to know and love her. While she will be deeply missed, the love she gave, the memories she created, and the stories that will be shared for years to come will keep her forever present in the hearts of those who loved her.
