Today brought a full-circle moment that couldn’t have been more special. ❤️

As Dr. Alfred Shearer closes an incredible chapter of caring for generations of families.

Today on his last office day in clinic his last unofficial visit was with his first, granddaughter, Brewer alongside Anne, Dr. Shearer’s wife.

What a beautiful way to end a remarkable career filled with compassion, dedication, and love for children.

Pediatric Associates of Mobile’s Fourth of July Safety Reminders 🎆

As you celebrate Independence Day with family and friends, we want to help keep your little ones safe so everyone can enjoy a happy and healthy holiday!

🎇 Fireworks Safety

Leave fireworks to the professionals whenever possible.
Never allow children to handle or light fireworks, including sparklers. Sparklers can reach temperatures over 1,000°F and can cause serious burns.
Keep a bucket of water or a garden hose nearby if fireworks are being used.
Watch fireworks from a safe distance.
☀️ Beat the Heat

Keep children well hydrated by offering water often.
Dress kids in lightweight, light-colored clothing.
Take breaks in the shade or indoors.
Never leave a child unattended in a parked vehicle—even for a minute.
🏊 Water Safety

Designate a responsible adult as the “Water Watcher.”
Keep young children within arm’s reach around pools, lakes, and beaches.
Use properly fitted U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jackets when boating.
Empty small kiddie pools after use.
🌭 Food Safety

Keep cold foods cold and hot foods hot.
Wash hands before eating and preparing food.
Cut hot dogs and grapes into age-appropriate pieces to help prevent choking.
Keep alcoholic beverages out of children’s reach.
🚲 Bike & Outdoor Safety

Make sure children wear helmets while riding bikes, scooters, or skateboards.
Apply sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) and reapply every two hours or after swimming.
Use insect repellent as directed.
🐶 Pet Safety

Loud fireworks can frighten pets. Keep them indoors in a safe, secure space.
Remind children to give anxious pets plenty of space.
🇺🇸 Celebrate Safely

The best Fourth of July memories are the ones where everyone stays safe! We wish your family a fun-filled holiday with laughter, great food, and wonderful memories.
