Proud of the efforts of our Springhill Heart Center Structural Heart team in reaching this milestone and in making a difference in the lives of patients with stroke risk associated with non-valvular atrial fibrillation (AFib). We remain committed to bringing advanced cardiovascular care to the communities we serve.

We reached an incredible milestone as Dr. Wail Hashimi performed our 500th patient implant of the WATCHMAN FLX™ Pro Left Atrial Appendage Closure (LAAC) Device!

As one of the only hospitals in Mobile, Alabama, to offer this latest LAAC technology, we’re proud to provide our patients with advanced options for managing stroke risk associated with non-valvular atrial fibrillation (AFib).

Congratulations to Dr. Hashimi and our entire heart care team on this incredible achievement! Reaching 500 implants is a testament to our commitment to bringing advanced heart care and innovative treatment options to our community.

We are proud to share this exciting milestone. Dr. Matthew Quin cardiac electrophysiologist and the Cardiology Associates structural heart team with Mobile Infirmary Medical Center’s Cath Lab team, and Boston Scientific reached 500 Watchman(TM) left atrial appendage closure (LAAC) implants, a major achievement for advanced heart care on the Gulf Coast.

The Watchman(TM) device is a proven stroke prevention option for patients living with atrial fibrillation (AFib) and want an alternative to long-term blood thinners. Reaching 500 cases reflects our communities trust in our teams commitment to bringing world class cardiac care close-to-home.

Congratulations to Mobile Infirmary’s Heart & Vascular Institute on reaching a major milestone!

On June 4, Dr. Matthew Quin and Mobile Infirmary’s Electrophysiology team successfully completed the hospital’s 500th WATCHMAN™ Left Atrial Appendage Closure (LAAC) implant, an advanced treatment option that helps reduce stroke risk in eligible patients living with atrial fibrillation, also known as AFib.

This achievement reflects the expertise, dedication and teamwork of our physicians, nurses, technologists and cardiovascular support staff who work every day to provide leading-edge heart care close to home.

Thank you to our entire cardiovascular team for your commitment to improving the lives of our patients.
