The Opportunity
We are seeking a passionate, driven, and adaptable Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our growing team. This unique role offers the best of both worlds: a vibrant, collaborative clinic environment based in Mobile, alongside flexible (as needed) home health options for candidates interested in community-based care. As we expand, we are looking for a clinician who wants to truly elevate their skillset. While experience is a plus, we are highly invested in mentoring the right person.
You must have a strong desire to learn, specialize, or deepen your existing knowledge in: Lymphedema Management; Oncology Rehabilitation; & Scar Tissue Mobilization
Key Responsibilities:
➡️ Deliver exceptional, individualized occupational therapy interventions under the supervision of a Registered Occupational Therapist (OTR).
➡️ Provide care primarily within our Mobile clinic, with the opportunity to treat patients via our home health options, as needed.
➡️ Actively participate in continuing education and specialized training regarding lymphedema, oncology, and scar tissue management.
➡️ Educate patients and their families on compensatory strategies, home exercise programs, and specialized self-care techniques.
➡️ Maintain accurate, timely documentation of patient progress utilizing our EMR system.
➡️ Collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes.
➡️ An eager, team player, teachable mindset: A strong willingness to learn and adapt to specialized patient populations (Lymphedema/Oncology/Scar Tissue) is required. Excellent communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications:
⭐️ Graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
⭐️ Current, unrestricted COTA license in the state of Alabama (or eligible).
